Wendy my dear I do feel your pain! It sucks to see newbies getting their dates but you are still stuck in limbo. I was wondering will the embassy ever catch up or will this long wait from NVC completion to interview date be the new norm for spousal visas??? blink.gif

Thanks Amber for your sympathy. God willing, that will not be the case. Praying that we or anyone of the spousal visas get dates. Just wish that the ball would start roling for us. Any word on Sam?

Ok, I know I'm bound to get scolded for saying this but I just can't resist because I find it more than a little perplexing...

In looking through the interview schedule on the embassy website and reading about everyone on here who is still waiting their interviews :reading:, it occurred to me that many of the scheduled interviews are for diversity visas, interviews for ppl from countries outside of Egypt and various other levels besides immediate family based...I don't begrudge anyone or wish a long drawn out wait on anyone but how is this justifiable? I am all for waiting one's turn but isn't reuniting family supposedly one of their top priorities and wouldn't it make sense to take care of the cases from the country you are in as a priority to the other transferred cases?? I really don't mean to complain, I just really was curious about this I mean to me it makes sense you would want to clear out the backlog of immediate family visas prior to worrying about DVs, transferred cases and such...am I totally off base here?:bonk:

Off my soapbox now , am leaving tomorrow for Cairo to wait it all out with my hubby ^_^:dancing:

Good luck to all of you, I hope our journey's go smoothly and quickly as possible from here....

Engo.... Yes I said this already! Ahmed and I got our email about our interview date on May 29th which is the end of the month and on a Sunday... WHICH MEANS NVC SCHEDULES THE INTERVIEWS ALL MONTH LONG! I think they just say 2nd week of the month so they are not getting calls every day from the same people over n over again.

I actually contacted a lawyer about this and he found it very odd that case that were completed AFTER my case were already set up with an interview date. This is very wrong. We actually are contacting our local senators office to see what they can do. My lawyer contacted the NVC and the US embassy and they have nothing to say about this.. I decided to inquire an attorney to confirm my thoughts in which he stated clearly he found cases that were completed AFTER my case that already have interviews scheduled YET my wife and I continue to wait for an interview to be scheduled. This was brought to the attention of NVC AND the US embassy in Cairo by my attorney but they had no response to this fact. This is completely and utterly wrong is all kinds of ways and in fact I am quite outraged that this is happening. It is pretty evident that I am being mistreated by them but WE LITTLE people are always left in the dark without no clue on what is really going on. Seems like no matter what I do it has no effect. Maybe we all can try to see what is going on because something is not right here.

Thanks Engo, I arrived safely and am very happy to be back.

Based on the backlog, I am not honestly expecting an interview date before September or even October but am still calling and pestering NVC about it anyway .....I figure it can't hurt..

Anyway I just spoke with the operator last night and was told July dates have all been filled and they will be scheduling for August the 3rd week of July to call back and inquire around the 20th of July...so there you go, as everyone else has said, it's anyone's guess...I hope those with interviews scheduled already do well and all get approvals with small AP and for the rest of us, I hope and pray our wait isn't too terribly long.
