I am Cambodian and i have my fiancee who is living in the state now. I don't know when she field the document but she got the NOA1 on 09 May, 2011. My fiancee have sent I-129f to texas lockbox coz over there they process faster. Is it right?

Anyway, Until now it's about over 1 month already we didn't have any update information about the process. I just wanna know what is the next step and how long it take me till the interview date? Oppppsss.... one more thing, I got my case number now and when i enter it to uscis.gov, it show me (Initial Review). What does it mean?

Thanks

I believe everything gets sent to the texas lock box now so it won't have any impact on how fast or slow your case moves. Initial review means they have received the package and now it is waiting in the queue for the adjudicator to look at your package. This can take 5 to 6 months and unfortunately is the most nerve wracking part since you will get no information from USCIS. My suggestion is to make a note on the calendar on October 9th and try not to think about it until then. It is easy to make yourself crazy checking and seeing no progress. If it gets approved before then, that is great and you can move on to the next step.

Good luck and have lots of patience

; All I-129f packages need to be sent to Texas Lockbox, and TL will decide where your petition is headed next...

When you received your NOA1, you'll see where it's sent to and where it's at til NOA2, maybe Vermont or California Service Center.

"Initial Review" means that your petition is under background check. This is normal, it is a standard procedure. They will check your I-129f package and see if your relationship with your fiance is real/genuine & if you ARE or WILL become a public charge or not, or if you are or going to become a threat in the US.

You will see this for the next 4 to 6 months, until they made a decision and send you a NOA2.

Before NOA1 and NOA2, all you can do is WAIT WAIT WAIT . Though, in mean time you can also collect proof of ongoing relationship, such as (tickets, hotel receipts, photo's, chat/phone logs, E-mails/cards, etc.) from the time you got your NOA1.

Good luck and welcome in the waiting game
