NVC not received petition as yet..

Hi there everyone

Wondered if you could help me. Me and my fiance got our NOA2 on 27th May. I have called NVC a few times since (the last time today), and they have no record of it being received as yet and advised me that I had to wait 15 business days from the 27th May before calling back. I'm a bit surprised by this, as I have seen others who had their NOA2 a week or more after ours with petitions already received by the NVC and sent onto the relevant consulate. Just wondered what the next step is if they don't receive it in the next week, or if there is any other way to get our LDN number? I'd like to get cracking on the next part (particularly as I have two months' notice to hand in with my job), so would welcome any opinions.

Thanks!

L

You can't get the LND number until NVC assigns it. If they don't have your case there isn't a LND yet.

You can't get any closer to the visa (forms mailed in) until London acknowleges your case is received from NVC.

You can sort out your shot records with your GP. Get your passport photos made. Order your police certificate. Get the finalized I-134 from the sponsor. Get all the documents in hand you will take to the interview that are listed on this London webpage.

And you can call USCIS to try to chase down why your file hasn't gone to NVC. You did speak to a person at NVC, and didn't just enter numbers in the automated system?? K1s aren't in the automated system.

Hi there - thanks for your responses everyone!

Mo-Ade - I've called a few times every week but get a bit disheartened every time I hear they haven't received it yet. I will keep trying, but I'm just surprised they haven't received it.

Kaibosh - You can speak to someone about your case by pressing '5' once you've selected the language to be used.

Nich-Nick - Thanks for that. You've been a great help so far and I really appreciate it. I have started to collect what I need - I've applied for police certificates and will contact my GP this week re: vaccinations. I did speak to a person at NVC (or, I've spoken to a few by now), and they don't tell me anything at all. I wasn't sure who to talk to at USCIS as I thought it was now out of their hands?

It may still be in their hands if it's not at NVC. There's only that general number to call for everything and they aren't usually much help. That's why I said TRY because it may be futile. There have been times in the past where CSC took a long time to ship out approved cases. The fact that you don't have a hard copy NOA2 indicates CSC may be lagging a bit or got off-track on your case. But with the holiday, there's only been nine working days which isn't a huge delay.

Thanks for that. We do have a hardcopy NOA2, although that took a while to come through so, yeah, could be that CSC are lagging in actually sending out documentation. But, yeah, I can see what you mean and, yes, you're right - 9 days isn't long at all. I'm just having an impatient moment!

Thanks again, everyone. I was too impatient (right again, Nich-Nick!) - the NVC received it yesterday, but obviously hadn't input it into the system by the time I called yesterday. Too funny, as I was about to contact USCIS today!
