It is a long story, but the short version is that my fiance and I have split up. Nothing to do with distance. He just needs to sort some things out, and I can not help him with that. I am devestated, but must move forward.

I want to stop the petition, it is at the embassy, I got my packet 3 letter this weekend.

What do I need to do?

I was going to write to them, and include our names, DoB, and case number?

Is there anything else I need to do?

Thank you for all your help

You don't say but it sounds like you are the UK fiance?

Yes, send a letter back to the consulate indicating that you will not be pursuing the visa. You could just let it die by not doing anything, but it's likely better to have it administratively closed. It also wouldn't hurt to have the US fiance do the same if you're still talking. Otherwise, just one letter is fine.

Sorry things didn't work out!

Thank you both

Yes I am the UK fiance.

Did you mean that I should get the USC to send a letter to the embassy as well, or to somewhere in the USA? Sorry if I am being dumb, it is all still a bit freah and so I am not quite as clear as I normally am.

Thanks

That link is for immigrant visas. K1s are not really processed by the NVC other than to assign them a consulate specific case number.

It's best to write a letter to the consulate in London indicating that the visa will not be sought - both from the US and UK fiance if possible, but if only one notifies them, that should be okay. The consulate should then close the case administratively.

Thank you, you are too sweet. I wish it were that simple. It has nothing to do with the process. It has to do with choices he is making. It really is ok. we still talk and he is a good man. This is just not right at the moment. Thank you for your sweetness :)
