Hi everyone,

Just a quick question:

How do you see when the next available appointment is to see if there are earlier dates? Keep on refreshing "Current Appointment Details" page which has the : "Note: The next available appointment for your trip purpose at this moment is:xxxx"

Is there a way to see the calendar again without cancelling your current appointment?

Thanks!

You click yes, it takes you to the calendar, as long as you don't click on a new date your appointment doesn't change. There really is no use to see the calendar, if your notice says the next available appointment then that is the next appointment. You then click on my account and it takes to your main page. Montreal is booking Sept 28! Good luck!

This is not true. As soon as you click 'Yes' you are without an appointment. Trust me - I nearly lost my date doing this. I hit 'Yes' by mistake, and it took me to the calendar, yes, but when I went back to my applicant summary page I had no appointment. I emailed the CSC website and they said once an appointment is cancelled, it cannot be retrieved through them. I was very fortunate to catch my original date when it opened back up a few hours later, but if not I would have been SOL.

Please don't give out information like this without knowing if it's true. It could delay someone an extra month or two needlessly for their interview.

To answer the OP, no, there isn't.

This is an answer from the FAQ section on the CSV website,

However, if the applicant has booked an appointment already, and now wishes to change that appointment, the applicant must cancel the current appointment in order to view the calendar to see if there is an earlier date for which the applicant would like to schedule.

I have no answer for why my appointment hasn't been cancelled when I have looked at the calendar, which I have done several times, must be pure luck...up to you as to what you want to do. To reiterate, if the next available date is not sooner than the date that you want to reschedule there is no need to view the calendar.I really did not intentionally want to give wrong information, I went by my experience.

Wishing you well through this next step...soon you will be with your fiance!

*shrug* I didn't imagine losing my appointment, and I only selected a new one (temporarily, thank goodness) when I saw mine had been wiped. Maybe they have changed things, but this was only in May. It cancelled mine as soon as I clicked 'Yes'. I received the email confirmation stating I had cancelled it prior to selecting a new day.

I'm not sure what happened with yours, but at best we can say that it's an unpredictable and flawed system.

The OP is free to try it, if they want to. I just feel like they should be informed that doing so may cause them to lose their spot. Whether or not they want to risk it is up to them.
