Filed: K-1 Visa Country: Peru
Timeline

Hello to all,

My girlfriend is from USA and I'm from Peru (LatinAmerica), we have lived together in Puerto Rico for three weeks. We met each other two weeks before that in California, I was in a travel for business.

She is coming to visit me in October and we are planning to get married because we want to stay together in USA. Now the question is .... is better to get married in my contry and start the paperwork here ? or is better to get married in USA and start the papper there ? .. I know I will have to come back to my country and wait ...

Or is the faster thing to just start with the fiancee visa and then get married, remeber the point is to be together the soonest.

We are trying to find the fastes way ...

The other question is ... is the pappers are being processed, Can I still use my tourist visa to travel to visit her ?

Thanks a lot.

Martin

Martin, you'll find a table with the pros and cons of the K1 and the K3 routes here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...mp;page=compare

Whilst you *can* use a tourist visa, you'll have to show proof of strong ties to Peru to visit your fiance, so you can demonstrate that you don't have any intention of staying for good in the U.S. when you enter the country under a temporary visa. Even if you bring proof to show strong ties, there's always a chance you'll be denied entry.

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.
