@ Simenaj - atleast 2 years po talaga ang processing ng F2A. sometimes, lagpas pa ng 2 years, depende sa takbo ng VB.

You have 2 choices, you can either wait for your SS Number kung pinili mong bigyan ka nila

upon your documents, may selection dun... Or, you can drop by the Social Security Office

to get your own number, just present your immigrant visa, that's what we did, you will be assigned your number

the next day, tawagan mo sila to get your number, the hard copy will be sent via mail within 2 weeks...

Hello po,cnu po dto ang f2a category,permanent resident ang asawa.. I just wondering case complete nq,nag aantay lng ng interview... Kelangan pb antayin na maging current ang priority date?kht na case complete na??

in fact, we were part of the batch that was hit with retrogression,

and an extra year was added to our waiting time before,...

The GREAT thing being an F2A category, you already have your visa number waiting,

you just have to be patient, that's the only thing we can do,..

May nabasa kasi ako dito dati na naging problema pagpunta nila sa SS office 1 day after they arrived in the US.

Wala pa yung name nila sa system and ayaw i honor yung immigrant visa nila.

Minsan kasi dito, hindi nila tinatanggap yung immigrant visa lang.

Kala ko dati dahil US, high tech na at mabilis, di rin pala.

Example ko ay yung kumuha ako ng exam sa military, ayaw ako pakuhanin dahil di raw nila ini honor yung immigrant visa.

I even showed them yung note na pwede gawin temporary GC yung visa.

Di rin pumayag.

With my hubby and our 2 kids, exactly a month after they arrived na-receive nila GC and SSN cards nila (refer to my signature).

Different case with my bunso, she got hers 2 weeks after their arrival.

Sa ds-230 form mo ba you answered YES dun sa portion na "Do you want the Social Security Administration to assign you a SSN and issue a card?", if yes, then you should wait for your SSN card to be delivered to you. Waiting time varies on every state so if naka-1 month na and wala ka pa na-receive that's the time na mag-follow up ka sa SS office.

actually, kahit na check mo yung sa ds-230, pwede mo pabago sa POE and sabihin mo sa immig officer na ikaw na mag asikaso ng SS mo.
