Hello all,

I wanted to ask someone, since I am new to this threat and not very sure were to start.

My sister in Law wants to come here to visit us with her boyfriend for a week or two. I don't know what I need to file. We live in Michigan, USA. She and her man will support themselves with money. So she doesn't need any affidavit. She only wants to come because she has not seen her brother, my husband, for over 14 years. And her little nephew, my son, either.

Please would someone tell me what should I do. Do I need to call immigration and ask them?

Thank you

Julianna

If your sister in law and her b/f are UK citizens (you show UK as the other country) they should be good to simply travel under the VWP (Visa Waiver Program) in which case all they have to do is fill in the online ESTA form before the flight. If they are of a nationality that isn't part of the VWP they will have to apply for a visitor's visa as per previous reply.

Providing they have no criminal record and have never been denied entry they would just fill out the ESTA thing on line which will tell them if they can travel on VWP they must do this before getting in the plane!tell them to search online for it! If that gets okayed they can come with that and they will just fill out a wee customs form on the plane and as long as the person at the border ok's them which usually from the uk they do they will be ok to stay in the US for 90 days!

I travelled to the US 6 times using the VWP over the space of 3 years with no issue
