Do I have to do this all over again?

I admit that I don't clearly remember the fiasco in question (there have been all kinds of bust-ups since I've been reading VJ), but I can't imagine that any of the UK ladies commenting in this thread were guilty of picking fights in the PI forum.

Also, responding to a provocation is different from picking a fight. A lot of posters don't make that distinction. ;)

There's a fine line on that one imo. What's provocative in ones eyes isn't always the case with another. I'm not trying to split hairs here, and I know of a few times we in the RUB forum including myself have been guilty of baiting the UK/Canadian crowd into a flame fest. Those days are done and over with seeing how we in the RUB forum have finally seen the light so to say. :)

I also know of instances where that same crowd has come into the RUB forum and completely destroyed threads for the simple fact they were looking to start ####### no matter how far they had to stretch someones post to turn it into what they wanted. The "Women's Day" thread in there is a prime example. It's a big time holiday for RUB women...like bigger than Valentines Day for them, it was nice and polite until the usual culprits in the UK/Canadian bunch came in there, spammed the ####### out of it and destroyed it. That hasn't been the first time, nor was it the last. I have posted on one thread in the UK forums...all nice post I guess you can call them, and to my knowledge none of the RUB members have come into the UK/Canadian forums and started WW3 in there.

Now if Gary was posting he would say it's due to the fact we (fellow RUB'ers) are all too busy getting sexed up by our hot RUB wives...he he.

TBH it's kind of fun going at it with you gals. It's never boring, and it usually ends up with most everyone leaving a thread on a good note...well some of us (me for sure). You and Trompe always seem to be good sports, and both of you gals are quick as lighting. Great gals both of you. Your husbands are very lucky imo.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

I do have CRS from time to time, but I can't ever remember going into another region's forum and picking a fight or trying to derail a thread. In fact, I rarely go into the other regional forums at all, and if I do, it's to read a thread whose title came up on the 'Recent Topics added' function and either sounded interesting to read, or was an immi question I thought I could answer.

While I'm taken aback by the misogynist tones I've seen in some threads there, I don't think it's fair to say that's the ONLY place it happens either. Besides which, if RUB or PI wives (or any others for that matter) wish to live with and be married to men like that, that's their misfortune.

I can't speak for men married to Pinay's, but I can tell you with good knowledge that showing sensitivity to a RUB women is taken as a sign of weakness in their eyes...not all of them, but by far the majority. Add that with most of us guys in there were looking for eye candy at the time we met our wives...well you have guys that tend to be cocky arses who tend to be a bit chauvinistic at times.:D We tend to be older than our spouses, yet I hardly doubt even with the age difference that any of us including myself try and take advantage of our spouses for the fact that doesn't happen with your run of the mill RUB gal.

They are nothing like American women in many ways. When gals here are in high school cruising the malls, texting friends, cruising in cars looking for guys, going to ball games, proms, etc... well it isn't happening over there in the RUB country's. Those gals are mainly about survival and they think anyone ...men and women included that are "prissy, sensitive (emasculated?), etc.. are nothing more than food for the vultures. A lot of peeps here in the US take those women as being cold and unfriendly when they first meet them...my family was an example of that...but it's just how they are...that nature of the beast so to say.

As far as being "sex objects"...well there's a reason they dress like they do. Sex is power in their eyes, that and the competition over there is insane. It's the good with the bad I guess.

Sorry LaL...I just saw this post after reading smokes reply. Anything Iv'e posted about on the goings on here is only what I have witnessed with my own eyes. When I first joined this board I was working like crazy back then, travelling, and knee deep in the visa process and my post on this board were limited to the RUB forum and CR1 forum. I did more reading than posting. My post in the RUB forum back the were limited mostly to CR1 stuff and a few good political flame fest in regards to the RUB country's...and we had some good ones down there back then.

Such vitriol! Lest we forget - PI forum had its very own regional mod back then who had his own personal touch on that forum (which I didn't care for at ALL TBH). I rarely went in, and I was rarely PMed with issues! Although I do remember some issues and I remember one person in particular it had to do with.

vitriol...yup i gots that. selective memory....yup you gots that. those exchanges went all over this board. the trolling would happen in the PI forum & then it followed the pot stirrerS out of the PI forum to just about every forum on this board. no way you didn't see it. no way possible.

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

It's been a year or maybe more since Iv'e read one of his post. Not sure what happened with him.

Chauvinistic - 'at times'? LOL! I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on that one. Or perhaps it's a case of finding some courage behind a keyboard for verbosity that would never be in play in their homes IRL. I'm starting to think that may be quite true.

I made no comment about the qualities or virtues of RUB women. I've not met any so I couldn't say with any intelligence whether or not they are cold and unfriendly, or warm and friendly. How they choose to dress - and for what reasons - is also their business.

Still - I think all of this has gotten us away from the original point of the thread, which is that the overall misogynistic tone of the board should not be tolerated, not to mention how it could be very off putting to newcomers. The fact that it remains tolerated really has nothing to do with how either you or I might feel about this subject, that subject, or s*it that went down years ago.

It has everything to do with Ewok and his moderators (and how they want this board to be). The lack of response from Ewok is concerning. If conversations are being had about it offline, I wish we could be told that. As it is, it's starting to seem like it doesn't matter very much.
