I got the Update news. I have GUZ number right now. But When i tell the operator I wanna use EDI.( Maybe I miss understand her meaning) Her probably means it's not the time for doing OPTIN yet. Maybe not completely ready for my case. Question is :

Should I listen to her or I should do the OPT in right now regardless what she said?? Or she actually needs to give me the DS-3032 kit??

Optin now. Follow the EP guide. Ignore what she said. She knows nothing about EP or the shortcuts.

Any suggestions?

Yup. Did you give nvc any email addresses on you and your wife?

if so, expect a 'ds-3032 kit' in your email, in a day or two.

IN THAT KIT, is the AOS fee bill.

Once you have the IIN from the AOS fee bill (in yer email inbox) then

NVC is ready to accept yer OPT IN Email.

If you not receive any AOS fee bill in email by Wednesday, call NVC back, ask for

'AOS FEE BILL VIA EMAIL' to you.

You don't need the ds-3032 from the kit, but

when the kit is emailed to you, NVC is officially ready to start processsing yer casefile

and

They are listening for the OPT IN email. Use the DS-3032 from the wiki page, the download link is there.

Good Luck !

FYI, they will accept an OPTIN and a DS3032 in the same email, (or separately) as soon as the same day they assign a case number. As a practical matter, the DS3032 "kit" as you call it will have gone out by the time they get around to doing anything with the email anyway, so no need to wait for anything but a GUZ number.

Time to rip some language, sir.

OPT IN PROCESS requires a signed and scanned DS-3032 along with the proper body and subject line for the email.

to say 'they will accept' is onerous, as in fact, they require it. The way you've written it implies options - there's not any options, alas.

as for 'same day as assign a case number' - I'm sorry, that's just wrong. NVC ain't ready to go for document intake (regardless of the medium) until immediately after they send out the AOS Fee Bill, and that comes in as part of the DS-3032 kit. The instant an IIN is assigned (which comes in the AOS fee bill) is the instant NVC is ready for document intake. Sending in the OPT IN EMAIL, prior - it won't get added to the casefile, NVC ain't listening for it, the 'switch' to listen is turned on after IIN is generated (and AOS FEE BILL EMAILED), not prior.

I'm sorry, yer posit is wrong.

Now, this guy needs help, and I'm gonna help him, a bit. I had thought to ask to you step off, prior - but with this wrong info that yer giving? I'm TELLING you to step off, let me guide him. Trace the DJ Walker Thread, you'll see I know what's what..

Seriously, on this one, this one member - step off. Go bug someone else's post, ya ?

Thanks for the Information! I did wrong then. I just OPTIN to NVC without NVC sending me the DS-3032 KIT. Because My ds-3032 has been signed by my wife and scan back to computer. and I just OPTIN (wrote the email to NVC) Am I doing really wrong stuff? :( :(

Is ok - really - just wait for the DS-3032 kit - inside of it will be the AOS Fee Bill, which contains the IIN (Invoice Identification Number).

When you receive the AOS Fee Bill, NVC is ready for the first document intake -

which will be the OPT IN email...

That auto-reply that you got - is normal, standard - everyone gets that when anything is sent (usually)

So - when you receive the AOS fee bill, send in the OPT IN email to nvcelectronic@state.gov

Hang in there !!

Also - be sure that you've given NVC (via telephone) yer email addresses (yours and your wife's) sometime soonish. It's not enough to get the GUZ # - NVC needs to send you something, they need yer email addresses.

My personal experience conflicts with what you've written above. I agree that a signed and scanned DS-3032, proper subject line and body are part of the optin process. I just disagree about the timing and need to wait for any mailed or emailed "kit". A standard completed, signed and scanned DS3032 with the case number can be emailed in with the OPTIN email the day a GUZ number is available. I don't make this stuff up. Seen it work more than once. So, FYI. Take it to the bank. You only need a GUZ number, not any "kit" to proceed with the OPTIN email.

Also FYI, I saw a case number assigned and kit emailed the same day, just last week. Ain't my first rodeo, not even the first this month.

If you emailed nvcelectronic@state.gov with the appropriate subject line and information in the body of the email, and typed or wrote the GUZ number on the DS3032, my experience says you'll be fine. If the case number wasn't on the DS3032 scan, I EXPECT you'll still be OK, but please let us know how it worked out.
