Hi

I am a new Member here. I can become a citizen and apply my wife without any lawers because Visajourney help me a lot! I sent my I-130 in Apirl 11 and I already received my NOA2 yesterday.

Question is what should I exactly do after I am going to call them and get the INN number. Should I send them AOS or something else to NVC through Email? ( I heard some members do this from Email?)

I am feeling nervous because I am close to the final step. Normally I just browse what people post and find the similar problem. This time, I registered! I asked by myself! Please point me out what to do. Sorry for my poor english. Hope you guys understand. Thank you

Best Regard

Grats on getting your NOA2 and becoming a member!

Since your wife lives in China, then you're eligible for electronic processing, which can save you weeks. Please read this guide: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Electronic_Processing There's a whole process of opting in, paying two bills ($88 and $404), and sending two packages (AOS and IV).

If you have any specific questions, just ask away. I did EP as well, but it's a little different for China, but I'll try my best to help you if you have any questions :)

Since My English is not good enough, I am afraid I can not handle the Electronic Processing. Any agent where is in NYC can help me do the EDI? I dont have scanner also.... Sigh.

Ah, if you don't want to do EP, then I suggest reading these guides to help you on the NVC process:

And what's EDI?

whoa - no scanner, la.

really ?

Go Buy, soon, craigslist used gear in NYC

1. http://newyork.craigslist.org/search/sys?query=MFC&srchType=T&minAsk=&maxAsk=

2. http://newyork.craigslist.org/search/sys?query=scanner&srchType=T&minAsk=&maxAsk=

most 'agents' to do paperwork are unknowing about NVC Electronic Processing for China . So, even if you found a good bilingual agent in NYC, you'd have to train them. I say go with Electronic Processing, aiyo !!!

You probably have a buddy that will let you use his scanner or multi-function gear - It's gonna be about 3 hours of scan time on the I-864 set, and then your wife can scan the civil docs on ds-230 in china at copy shop.

Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Hey - in about 2 weeks, yer casefile will be at NVC (I think)

That gives me enought time to do a translation to Chinese. If I can't post it here, I'll put it up at http://www.chinafamilyvisa.com/ in their wiki section.

There's 2 or 3 USCitizen Wives that filed for their PRC husbands this year, did NVC EP, I will try to enlist their aid with translation, but if you want - prolly best if you set up some PMs to them, as well. I know the instructions here look 'heavy' but for each step, is really not so much. Each step mirrors a paper process that you'd have to do.

Going EP shaves off time, la - for Guangzhou - shaves off 3 to 5 months of 'dead zone time' after NVC processing is finished - is really nice, I think worth your effort.

start by getting the NVC case number, the GUZ casenumber.

It'll take about 2 weeks from the time the case is approved at USCIS for NVC to have the casefile, assign a number.

You'll need to start calling in, every day, in about a week.

Once you have the GUZ casenumber, THEN you'll have to OPT IN to NVC Electronic Processing via a special email, an OPT IN Email. (follow the steps in the EP wiki after that)

You can pay fees online also, but that's not EP, everyone can do that. payment portal how-to -> http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/221785-ds-3032-slowdown/page__view__findpost__p__3560467

You'll need some forms, as well - see

DS-230 - http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3190.html

I-864 - http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3730.html

General NVC stuff - http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_1335.html

Lots of reading, la.

Can tell us, did you use any expedite on the I-130, or no ?

fedex ? no.

NVC Casenumber will equal GUZ number - it's the number NVC and Guangzhou IV unit use to identify the casefile - same number, will start with GUZ. NVC will be ready for you about 2 weeks after the notice date on the approval notice. Start calling them about a week after the notice date, sometimes things do go fast.

Whilst yer waiting, read a bit..

Thanks for the reply. One very important questions is about I-864 because I dont have enough income to support my wife. I am going to use the Joint Supporter.

So what's the different and change or Notice I should care when I use Eletronic Processing??

And what should I know if I am using the Joint Supporter...??
