Thanks VJers for nothing :bonk::bonk:

Patience. What do you expect for nothing? :lol

Use the interview letter and the included checklist for guidance. You can bring anything that will help, but if the spouse shows up with you, that would be number one. Don't forget to bring all original documents, as well as photocopies of each.

Insurance policies, joint bank account, ITRs, anything that will show you and your spouse's names. I am also bringing some photos in case they'll ask for it, and of course, my husband is coming with me to my interview :)

Proof of paid minor traffic violations and parking tickets, even though you don't have to report these. Couple of years ago, was a joint utility bill, also not specified and about the weakest form of marriage proof there can be. Just wonder what they will dream up next..

If you and/or spouse had a previous marriage, your original divorce papers, even though you showed those at the AOS stage.

Will need your green card and interview letter just to get into the door, if you took any trips outside of the USA since becoming a LPR, your foreign passport, if that was renewed since then, your expired passport. Three years of federal tax returns or transcripts, joint home ownership or leases., shared bank accounts, vehicle ownership, health and life insurance. We couldn't have children, but was just as effective to show joint ownership of a AKC registered dog. Having natural born children is a real big form of evidence by bringing in the birth certificates, but if you don't have any of those, really doubt you can to that in two days.

A lot depends on your IO, felt my wife over dressed and wore an expensive business suit, would have worked wonders if she got a guy IO, but got stuck with a very poorly dressed way overweight woman that seemed to be envious of her.

Don't expect your interview to be objective.

There is a great checklist of documents to provide in the Guide to Naturalization published by USCIS.

Did you file based upon a 3 year marriage to a US citizen? Basically, USCIS requires the marriage certificate plus 3 years of tax transcripts (showing either joint filing or married, filing separately), along with proof that any previous marriages for either of you are properly terminated having the rest of your file with all of your evidence previously submitted (entry visa, AOS and ROC, as required) so you really only need to bring along documents that show you are still married and therefore eligible for the 3 year filing option. Also bring the originals of any of those documents you already submitted in case they wish to see them, although it is unlikely they will be required.

To support your statement that you and your spouse are still happily married bring along current financial type of documents such as joint bank statements, joint bills, credit card statements, health insurance statements, birth certificates for children, lease or mortgage in both names (if you have this) - evidence like that which show you are both co-mingling your lives and your financial concerns. You will probably not have to show them, but if you are it is good to have them. The interviewer is unlikely to look at a photo album. The interview really does go quite quickly and unless there is something out of the ordinary in your circumstances they don't require a lot of 'extras' by this time.

Bringing your spouse along and then when your name is called, pointing to him/her and asking if they can come in (they can't, btw) will also give physical evidence to your interviewer who will see your spouse there with you even as he/she says 'no'. :)

If you are filing based upon a 5 year history as a permanent resident, then just bring your marriage certificate in case it is requested, but you don't need to prove your marriage in that situation.

Good luck at the interview.
