Compliance letter from Chrysler

I phoned Chrysler this morning to get a compliance letter for my Dodge pick-up. They say they need proof of immigration. Anyone know what they need? I am going for my interview on June 24th so don't have my visa yet. She said it takes them 7-10 days to do the letter so if I have to wait until I have my visa this puts my travel plans back at least 2-3 weeks. Anyone gone through this lately?? Can I just send them a copy of my NOA2?

This did not happen to me when I bought my car, but I suspect it was because I was not financing it. Any time you purchase something and you are borrowing money to do so, they will ask for proof that you are a legal in the US. They would like to know that you are not going to be deported and loose their money. When I bought my house i just showed my approved H1B to my lending agent. You can probably show your K1 and go that route. If all else fails have your spouse finance your vehicle. That or have someone guarantee your loan.

Or a photocopy of the Visa from your passport, just cross out all private information. Also I sent a copy of my registration and drivers licence to prove that I was the legal owner of the vehicle. They also want the VIN number.

The question is about importing a Canadian-registered vehicle into the United States.

Did you just call your local chevy dealership? Or the head office. I need to do this with my car as well, Do we need to get emissions tested as well? I've heard theres a sticker that we need to obtain as well??

Any help would be great.

Thanks
