Using co-sponsorship for K-1 Visa in Sofia Consulate /Bulgaria/

Hello!

I'm posting this again because I just found the Regional Discussion board!! :)

I want to address Bulgarian VJ users who went through /or are still going through/ the K-1 process.

My fiance, the US citizen, is a full-time university student, so he cannot sponsor me (he will get a summer job but it won't be enough of an income).

We are planning on using his mother to co-sponsor us and she eligible as she has the required income and assets.

My question is , how do they look at this in the Consulate in Sofia, Bulgaria? (Because as I read here on the VJ forums, it's very different for every consulate). I called them and a very nice and informative lady told me they do accept that in general and I can even present proof that i am able to support myself, in addition and if applicable. So I am bringing an affidavit from my father (who is a Canadian citizen) that he would sponsor me, too.

I still have my doubts about what they really think of this though.

Any advice from people with experience in this is appreciated! Thanks :innocent:
