hi everybody i see this 'This tool estimates when your priority date may become current' at http://www.myprioritydate.com/

so what do you think? :(

I WILL NOT PANIC BY THE SITE ESTIMATIONS. REASONS BELOW.

1) THIS SITE IS PREDICTING THE VISA MOVEMENT BASED ON AVERAGES.

2) NOTE THAT UNTIL JUNE 2010 PD'S IN F2A; MOST OF THE CASES WERE COMPLETED ARE IN PROGRESS [WHICH WAS NOT CASE WITH EARLIER YEARS WHICH WE WERE AWARE]. SINCE THAT THESE WERE COMPLETE, NVC HAS CLEAR PICTURE OF HOW MANY PENDING; AND VISA UTILIZATION CAN BE USED IN BETTER MANNER NOW; RESULTING IN CONSUMING MOST OF QUOTA COMPARED WITH PRIOR YEARS. THIS CERTAINLY SHOULD RESULT IN FASTER PD MOVEMENT THAN AVERAGE.

3) BASED ON MY EXPLANATION; I WOULD HALF THE NUMBER OF MONTHS PENDING PROVIDED BY THE ABOVE SITE.

THESE ARE JUST MY PREDICTIONS THOUGH

My Wife & Daughter PD: June 2009.

As it is discussed already in this forum:

I think in order to have a better idea how VB moves we need to know how many F2A visa applicants are waiting in NVC and how many visas are available annually, so here is a report provided by US Department of State: http://www.travel.state.gov/pdf/WaitingListItem.pdf

Unfortunately it is not a good news but at least gives a realistic picture so that we can estimate how long it will take especially for those who have applied recently.

If the report have been classified on yearly bases (....2008 X applicants 2009 Y applicants) you could get better sense when your PD will be current. Anyway, I think 3-4 years is logical waiting time given the availability of visa and the number of applicants for F2A.

I am curious to know what you guys think?

F2a for India should be in a better position based on http://www.travel.state.gov/pdf/WaitingListItem.pdf

Explanation is as follows: F2A quota per year is 88,000 [you can see that in page 5/12].

Each country receives 7% quota limit across all visas [assume f2a for each country receives same way: 7% of 88,000=6160]

I am taking India as an example here; see page 5/12; India is not listed in first 5 countries but mixed with others.

So India waiting should be less than Cuba which is 14,909. So lets assume India has 10,000 waiting list.

So it shouldnt take more than 1.5 year to become current for india.

Note: Each country has a quota limit but the F2A quota for Mexico is notsubject to the quota limit. See the Visa Bulletin for this info; So this also helps other countries in F2A.

So I wouldnt worry about F2A who were in line. I beleive if processing goes expected; we should be current soon. :)

I believe waiting time will be reduce to 2-3 years if VB moving current way.:star:

Hey guys; here is my thoughts about how VB will be moving:

According to the waiting list report, just 36,000 applicants exit in FY of 2010 (40% of visa availability for FY of 2011), actually it means that almost in 5 months FY of 2010 will be captured!. In other words, majority of the applicants files are accumulated before September 2009. So I just hope VB faster gets to Sep. 2009

Share your ideas please!

quick question i have about my interview.

THE interview is on the 30 OF THE AUGUST. Which may come on the EID HOLIDAY. I looked at the embassy website and it says that they are closed on the 31st of AUGUST. Does not mention the 30.

Does that mean it will be open on the 30? Should i call and reschedule? Who know when EID is going to be 30 or the 31. What should i do.? Should i call and tell them to move it to the 25? any help would be great.

no need to call for re-schedule they will not schedule you on a holiday,,,they had their own list of holiday so no worries my friend sit back relax enjoy your moment.
