HI everyone,

just wondering how much evidence is required by the sydney consulate for the I-134. specifically what have people been including for proof of income/employment? also if the petitioner meets the income requirements is it necessary to include further evidence of assets such as letter from bank etc?

No all the 134 requires and you need to read the instructions on this. We supplied. letter from bank stating date account opened and balance on bank letter head. Letter from employer on business letterhead stating position, full time /part time and yearly earnings. OOps I forgot 6 pay stubs as well.

I know this is an old post, but does the I-134 still require 6 pay stubs? I didn't see that anywhere else. Thanks guys! Just getting ready for Packet 3.

I didn't send 6 pay stubs. I sent a letter from my employer stating my employment history as well as proof of my upcoming contract year and pay, 2 or 3 recent pay stubs (I can't remember to be honest) and copies of my most recent bank statements (checking and savings) as well as my IRS statements for the past 5 years (I don't think you need that many, but I went back further than I needed to with those.) Of course, I haven't heard anything yet either, so bear that in mind ;) I didn't read anything about 6 paystubs either, and I read the guide and followed it to the letter.

Thank you! I should have enough. I have a letter from my employer, recent contract, 2 pay stubs. I only have bank statements right now (waiting on them to come in from horrible Bank of America), but I think it's ok because I make way above the requirements. I'm going to mail him everything tomorrow (minus the Bank of America letter), which he can bring to his interview.

Does anyone have a copy of the form that is referenced as the DS-2000?

I'm also preparing for Packet 3, we haven't received it yet, but I want to make sure everything is in line for when we do. I was reading the Packet 3 form from the embassy page, and under Affadavit of Support it says this:

Evidence which will show that you and your children, if any, are not likely to become public charges in the United States. The enclosed information sheet, form DS-2000, lists evidence which may be presented to meet this requirement of law. Enclosed is an affidavit of support, form I-134, which you should send to your petitioning fiancé (e) to complete on your behalf and on behalf of any children if applicable. The I-134 must be submitted with supporting documentation from your fiancé (e) to prove his/her ability to support you upon your arrival into the U.S.

I'm just wondering if anyone has that DS-2000 form and if the list of supporting evidence differs from the list on the I-134 instructions?

We never received a DS-2000 form (nor was it mentioned at all), and when I tried researching it online I couldn't find it as active anywhere. What I did find about it is that it appears to have been an information sheet, not something that needs to be filled out, and it also appears to now be defunct- the same information is listed on the instructions for the I-134 with regards to what information to provide for support. It could be that the Embassy information hasn't been updated since this form was removed from use. There are a few things in the VJ Embassy information for Sydney that need to be updated and/or are incorrect. For example, there are no longer any medical doctors in Tasmania (Hobart.) So I wouldn't worry about what this paper says and would just go with what the instructions for the I-134 requests for support. Packet 3 only says to provide the information required by the I-134.

Good luck!
