Hi,

I am waiting for my packet 3 Instructions from Montreal.

Since sometimes I am not at home, I wonder in what way they will mail

the instructions.

Does someone need to be at home to sign for it or just left in the mailbox?

Thanks.

When I received mine over a year ago, it was sent through regular mail. No signature required! Hope this helps!

It was regular mail last month, too! Though it's worth noting that you don't need to wait for the instructions to complete, you can send the required forms before receiving the packet from Montreal. (Some people recently have reported never receiving P3 at all, so it would definitely speed things up!)

Just in the mailbox by regular snail mail. You can be updated on your case by calling Department of State (1-202-663-1225, press 1, press 0). Have your MTL0000000 case number ready.

There is nothing more in your Packet 3 instructions than what is listed on the consulates website here : http://montreal.usconsulate.gov/content/content.asp?section=visas&document=index

Tip : save time and start gathering everything now. As soon as DOS tells you it's been mailed to you, send your package to Montreal.

US citizen since April 2016

ROC completed April 2014

AOS from K1 completed February 2012

We called DOS. they said Montreal sent out Packet 3 already and today they also sent another letter to me asking for extra documents. I guess they may ask me to proof my status in Canada - I'm PR not Canadian Citizen.
