For all interviews taking place from January 10, 2011, prior to attending your consular interview appointment you should also complete DS-160 form on line at www.ImmigrantVisas.state.gov and after that, you must access http://mexico.usvisa-info.com to schedule an appointment at the Applicant Service Center (ASC) of your choice, to get your fingerprints and photographs collected.

Each applicant is required to appear in person at the Applicant Service Center (ASC) prior to the consular appointment date. Once you have reached http://mexico.usvisa-info.com, follow the instructions to log in and schedule an appointment. It is important that you access the website as soon as possible to schedule the ASC appointment. If you do not go to the ASC prior to your interview at the consular section, your case may experience significant processing delays. Please do this for all applicants that will be applying for a visa (including children)."

Is this true??? I don't get it!

SOME OF IT IS TRUE, SINCE YOU ARE A K1 APPLICANT, U DO NOT NEED DS160. YOU WILL NEED FORM DS156 IN DUPLICATE, DS156K IN DUPLICATE, 1-134 FOR YOURSELF AND COSPONSOR IF NEEDED, CONFIRMATION OF DS260 SUBMITTED ONLINE. AND YES ONCE THAT IS DONE AND HER PASSPORT IS READY YOU WILL NEED TO GO TO THAT WEBSITE AND SCHEDULE ASC APPT AND CONSULATE INTERVIEW. MAKE SURE YOU CALL OR WAIT TO RECEIVE THE LETTER REQUESTING FROM THE CONSULATE TO START SCHEDULING. I SUGGEST YOU CALL. THEN YOU KNOW THAT LETTER IS ON THE WAY

Also, you might want to read through this long thread where the new changes were discussed, and the first people to go through with the new procedures in place posted their experiences: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/298777-ds-260-form-as-of-march-1st-2011/

Can you do the ASC appointment before the medical or the medical has to be done first before anything else?

I SUGGEST U DO THE MEDICAL FIRST BECAUSE IT REQUIRES TIME. ESPECIALLY IF SHE GIVES URINE SAMPLES IT MAY TAKE LONGER TO RECEIVE RESULTS. NOT DAYS BUT MAYBE A FEW MORE HOURS TO RECEIVE YOUR RESULTS. THE ASC APPT TAKES BUT MAYBE 2 HRS JUST SO SHE CAN GO DO THAT THE DAY BEFORE THE INTERVIEW AN EXACT HOUR IS GIVEN FOR ASC APPOINTMENT FOLLOW THAT ONE, NOW FOR CONSULATE THEY GIVE YOU A TIME TOO BUT I WOULDNT RESPECT THE TIME BECAUSE I HEARD THEY GO IN A FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS. SOME PEOPLE HAVE DONE THE MEDICAL AND THE ASC APPT THE SAME DAY BUT I WOULDNT RISK IT BECAUSE IF YOU STAY AT THE MEDICAL LONGER THAN PLANNED AND MISS YOUR ASC APPT THAN ITS GONNA CAUSE A DELAY CUZ YOU WILL HAVE TO RESCHEDULE

NOW THE MEDICAL RESULTS YOU WILL HAVE TO TAKE TO THE CONSULATE INTERVIEW. IF YOU WANT TO DO THE ASC APPT BEFORE THE MEDICAL YOU COULD BUT MAKE SURE YOU GIVE YOURSELF TIME FOR THOSE RESULTS TO COME IN BEFORE YOUR CONSULATE INTERVIEW
