my fiance's response to this when I asked her. My POE is Vegas right???? sssooooo....let's get the family to meet us there.....

(her first answer was: how soon after we get off the plane????) I have no idea what her response will be during hte interview... she has some really interesting answers. She is very, very playful.....

I just imagine the interviewer at the embassy or the Customs official.... She might actually ask the Customs official, "can't you marry us?.... No, well hurry.... I want to get to the little white chapel...." (and she is wearing a leopard print dress with a red ribbon sash while saying this.)

You could always run across the airport tarmac and hop the fence and end up at the Little Church of the West!post-95866-0-67411900-1307635575_thumb.jpg

The CO who asked me that, only wanted to know in order to tell me that the visa runs out in 6 months and that I have 90 days in which to do it.

I don't think they are testing you, I think its more a way of checking you know the rules.

(In my experience, in London, anyway, YMMV).

 I was asked the same question yesterday  , and I just answered as soon as I come to the USA, and the woman laughed. Then she asked about whether you've planned something, will you have a fancy wedding? I just answered, - you know we thought about it, but at the same time we know how much money we'll need for all the paperwork done that I just told my beloved man, that we don't need a fancy wedding. and she replied - yes, I understand.

We're planning on doing the same thing, 2 weddings.

Having a BBQ with friends and family (a great way for me to meet all the extended family i haven't me yet) and doing all the official paperwork there as he has a friend who can marry us.

Then next year having a bigger wedding which my family will fly out for.

I will probably tell them all this :)

2 weddings isn't a bad thing, so I don't see why you'd feel the need to hide it.

I like the idea of driving straight from the airport to the JOTP, lol. But, I wanna go down to South Georgia and have an outdoor wedding with all my family and old friends, and for the reception we'll all go fishing and drink lots of beer, have a bonfire and pick guitar and sing songs slightly out of key, lol!

Very cute, that's what is great about different cultures. My Fiance also has some interesting answers to a lot of practice interview questions I present to him.

As far as the question when will we marry? I tell people before the end of 2011. But the truth is I really better start planning because once the interview part is over and approved things will start to happen on US time and not Carribean time and what a big difference that is...
