Hi all,

My wife has her Interview at Paris the 16th of June. A couple of months ago I found prep questions, and the "guides" section doesn't cover IR-1/CR-1 questions. Is there anyone that can link me a guide or example questions?

Look in the Embassy reviews for Paris and you will find the questions that people have been asked at the consulate. Basically prep for anything and everything about you and your family in the US. Siblings, names, ages, locations. Same for Parents. Also your work, how long, company name, job title. Your hobbies, favorite food, types of books you read, music you like, movies you watch, income, where you live, color of house/car. Your education, school, degree if any, what you studied. Religion if any, church you attend if any and so on. When and where you got married. Make sure your wife knows to never ever ever say "I don't know" to a question. Many things they could ask, they won't even know the answer, but they are wanting to know that she knows the answer even if they can't verify it.

Not sure how important it is for Paris, but if you didn't include an EOR letter send one to your wife now. Likewise a letter explaining any previous marriage and divorce. These and pictures were the only thing the VO looked at in Guangzhou. He only asked a few questions but the "gotcha" question was what is his favorite food. I think Paris is a fairly low risk consulate so hopefully things should go easy for you. Bon Chance.

Thanks for the information; I'll actually be going with her to the Embassy because we live together. I've written an EoR and we have a ton of pictures from the past 2.5 years of our lives together.

So this is a stupid question, but...the notification for our interview asks my wife to bring her passport, a photo, money for the fees and a self-addressed express-post envelope. Should we be bringing far more things, such as copies of our tax returns, wedding photo albums, our kid locked in a cage, etc?

Yes, most people here bring copies of everything they've ever sent in (I-130 package, AOS package, IV package) as well as all evidence of a bona fide marriage.

Thanks Saylin! I'm wondering if they'll let our toddler wreak havoc in the consulate. He's good evidence of a bona fide marriage. Only a committed relationship can survive that kind of hurricane!

I'd call/email the consulate/embassy to see if kids are allowed, just in case. I know kids are allowed in the one at Montreal. They even have a little kids corner with toys!

EoR = Evolution of Relationship

I believe this is only needed for those in China. It's just a letter detailing how the relationship has evolved, as the name suggests.

Just a little update. We had our "interview." The consular did not ask my wife (i'm the USC) any questions, but only asked me two questions. "Was I a student this year in France?" and "Do I intend to find a job when I arrive in the States?" Btw, we've been approved and her visa should be arriving a day or so before our religious wedding ceremony!!!
