Dan, Nick/Nich: I AM a worrier, but the main part of worrying was the visa (just because of the big wedding we had planned). I don't think I'll worry QUITE so much about AOS. I will be very happy to just be in the same TZ too.

Dan: We plan on filing straight away, well, as soon as possible. We are due to get a lot of money from the wedding, apparently, which will help with the $1000+ fee :/

David.

Me too. This whole process has made me more of a worrier in general, I've suffered quite a lot with paranoia actually since the day we sent the petition! I think once I'm actually with my fiancee/wife though, that paranoia will ease off cause at least we're together. It's the fear of not being together that causes the worry. I'm gonna try and relax a little more when it comes to AoS whilst being sure to get everything done correctly. I'll try the DS-3025 and if I get a RFE, I'll do the I-693...whilst remaining as calm as possible. Hopefully

Yeah us too. Our wedding is August 18th so our weddings are close too. Be sure to post goings on in this forum. We can definitely help each other here. Good luck, and congrats! :D By the way, how did you know I am Dan and not Aylin? Did I tell you or is it obvious I'm a guy?

Dan---Make a VJ timeline!

I guess I didn't worry because we area real couple, no skeletons in the closet, and had enough money to pull it off without finding co-sponsors, etc. The advantage of being old is I'm not intimidated by USCIS, the embassy, police officers, customs, the IRS, etc. My only worry was dying before he got here.

And I found it very annoying waiting with no frame of when each step toward the visa would happen. It's all so vague how long things will take. So are you guys worried about the move to a new country? Now THAT would have been worrisome to me. Nick is the best immigrant ever! He loves it here and has embraced it like a trooper, instead of wishing he had everything British here with him. I'm kinda amazed at how adaptable he's been. He doesn't think everything in America is perfect, but he accepts it and goes with the flow. I probably would have whined alot if was the other way around.....no electrical outlets in the bathroom, a teeny tiny refrigerator with no icemaker, no closets, roundabouts...hahaha

LOL! I know what you mean, Nich.

Actually, I'm worrying a LITTLE about the move, but mainly about the free and easy access to the health service, but aside from that I am very adaptable. I've spent around 12 months in total in the states. I lived for 90 days in NY state surviving on my own pretty much, with just a mate (also an ex-pat) for company, and in various visits to the midwest with the "Mrs". I do love it - the open spaces, the (mostly) polite people etc. etc.

I'm concerned about getting a good enough job and moving out of the in-laws place (ugh!) but that's about it really. It's just the minutiae that I worry about really - how do I get an SSN, what forms to fill in, the what/who/when/where ;)

Just done that ;)

I'm not worried about the move. Anxious, but not worried. I just can't wait to be settled with my gorgeous fiancee! Both countries have their pro's and con's. To be honest though I don't care where I am as long as I'm with Aylin.

We called Knightsbridge Medical to ask for a copy of his results, and they said the Embassy would have a copy, so we called today and spoke to someone who gave us the email code and we wrote asking for it. I'm kind of at a loss here if they don't. What would you both suggest if they don't? At that point, I think we have no other choice but to pay for the syphilis and TB test all over again when the doctor transcribes the rest, correct?

Just out of interest, did you manage to get the copy of the results from the Embassy in the end, with the email you sent them?

No, we did not. We did get the run around for a good few days, with people telling us what we wanted was possible, if only we contacted X, but eventually it became clear that it was not possible after all. We took Nich-Nick's great advice and enclosed a letter with our RFE asking them to check our file for all the medical forms they should already have.

I've been wondering about you EC. Did your case status resume processing after sending back the RFE responses?

Well that sounds like great news. I don't know if you remember, but I gave you the same advice on May 23 http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/311283-rfe-for-i-693-date/page__view__findpost__p__4681935 , but you didn't believe me until 3 weeks later in this thread after you went off on a wild goose chase. Always listen to your Mama Nich  Hahaha. Just kidding. I do hope they have everything they need now.

Closets indeed! When he looked at my closet, he said "we'd call this a bedroom in the UK."

I'm really happy to hear that. It was perfectly logical in my mind, but it's good to get the confirmation that it resulted in your greencard so quickly. And actually another confirmation that you CAN get a greencard without an I-693 if you get it right at Knightsbridge. I love a happy ending........ :luv:
