Got a good chance of working with a company that pays well and was wondering if has anyone passed the Security & Network Plus courses?

I wouldn't say I'm a professional on those 2 topics but I know some basics. It looks difficult but not impossible.

Thanks for the reply Scott.

Are these 2 course's easy or difficult?

I'm looking into buying the 2 books to study and pass the course's. Is there also any other pointers or professional advice you can give?

Thanks

it all depends on your intellectual ability.. difficult for some, fairly easy to others.. there are a large number of brain dumps out there that can help you to know what to expect as well as resource such as testout. I use Labsim in a number of my courses... there are many other products availabale to help to train you in those areas... You really need more than just reading a book when it comes to these subjects...

Hi beppo,

I passed Network+ in december and Sec+ in April; If you're going to prepare for these exams I'd suggest you the following material:

a) Network+ = Todd Lammle's Network+ study guide (sybex 2009 edition)

Mike Meyer's Comptia Network+ all-in-one Exam guide

b) Security+ = Comptia Security+ Get certified get ahead by Darril Gibson (wait for the SYO-301 edition to be published)

In my preparation I also used video material from trainsignal.com. If you have some knowledge of networking already and you study hard on these books, you can be pretty sure you will pass it with a good score too. I personally found the sec+ the most difficult among all Comptia's exams cause I was a novice on the subject but I managed to get away with an 827/900 by only using Darril's book.

Good luck
