CENOMAR for CR1 visa???

Nice!!! Congrats on the approval! My husband and I were debating before whether to get the CENOMAR thing or not. It seems like it's part of the documents being inspected/asked now for CR/IR visa applicant. It's really better to be prepared rather than assume.

The way we looked at it was which would we regret more: Spending a little money and not needing the form or not spending the money and having her Visa delayed by a couple of weeks? Of course we decided that the time was more valuable than the money and it's a good thing we did because the CO wanted it.

Your wife SHOULD. There's nothing better but to have it. Mine took a week before it was released. I dunno if that applies to every NSO office.

I have also seen that if you get in a month in advance the CO made that person get an updated one.

The confusion comes from people here on VJ referring to the Advisory on Marriages as CEMAR, CENMAR. etc. Please refer to the form as to what it is, OR call it an ADMAR.

Wow! I didn't know that they will still ask CENOMAR even you are already married.. Thanks for this tip. I'm still far from finish. I'm still waiting for my Case number. It's been 17 days and still no case number. I'm stucked! (

What I did was 1 week before my interview I went to the Cityhall where I passed my CENOMAR and asked my mother in law (who is working there) to get the copy of my CENOMAR. So I have it scanned. If you know someone from the cityhall, asked for help. They can give a copy of it.

Hi! you just go there at St.Lukes and bring with u your notification letter and passport. No need to schedule.

Thanks Yang! We were also debating about that before because my husband told me that they will not ask for it coz we are already married but I dont want to take a risk so I asked the help of my godmother to get it from the cityhall.. Thank God I have that with me.

Really? Is that just for just the CENOMAR or everything? Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate, and CENOMAR? I thought NSO copies are good for a year? I have the green copies now. Those are the current ones, right?

yup! green is the current but it doesn't matter for the CENOMAR because what i gave is a yellow scanned copy from last year before i got married

Oh, okies... I got that one too (yellow) and the new one (green) that I recently got. The yellow one shows no marriage on file and the green one shows one marriage, my husband's name, and date of marriage.

I am so ready and I feel that the days are longer now than the usual!
