Hey everyone!

So.. exciting news today, after 4 months of waiting.. I finally received the email confirmation that the NOA2 is approved and the hard copy is on its way. Yay!!!

My fiance is due to visit June 22nd- July 12th, I've heard sometimes its difficult for them to visit though? Even if its just on a tourist visa like he's been here on twice before? Has anyone else had a problem with their fiance coming to visit the US? He's already got a return ticket scheduled and has to get back to work and he is coming here to attend a good friends wedding with me July 9th. Is there anything he should bring/do before he leaves on his flight to get here?

Any info on this would be very helpful.. I would be devestated if he got turned back around after flying here!!

Thanks, Jenn

I visited my fiance in New Jersey last month. At the POE they only asked basic questions. I told them i was just visiting my fiance. He asked about previous visits to the states and a few questions about my fiance (job, immig status) and that's it. He did not ask about the K1 process, my return ticket,or proof of ties to my country etc. But just to be safe your fiance should bring a letter from his employer stating that he's employed full time and is going on vacation on those dates and is expected back at work on a certain date. Also he should have his return flight itinerary. Just remember to be honest and keep it simple. Short direct answers should suffice.

Good luck and congratulations on the approval!

Oh, good to know! I can't imagine why they would think we would pay money to start a legal process, just to screw it all up by staying illegaly on a tourist visa.. but who knows. I guess crazier things have happened. His boss doesn't know the full plan at this point, he doesn't want him to know that he's planning on leaving to move here because he is afraid he will lose his job, but we will figure something out. He will def have a return ticket with him, and I think I'm goign to type a letter and photo copy the wedding invitation for him to print out and have on him that this is definitely only a visit! Thanks for sharing! Jenn

He wont have a problem visiting, he has his return ticket and his address on it for OZ he will be fine. As you mentioned get him to have this wedding invite on him that he is attending and he should be good. I visited before we started and during and was welcomed and told have a good holiday. They don't know about your 129f petiton at POE and will see he is from OZ and he should be fine. The only question I was asked was if I remember rightly was where was I staying and that was it.

Yay another Aussie! Congrats on the NOA2 by the way :) Hopefully mine will be here sooooon!

I'm actually in the US right now visiting my fiance for seven weeks, my POE was LAX. I had all my evidence ready that I was due to come home - I took with me a letter from my fiance's mom, a copy of the NOA1, a letter from centrelink saying I was returning to Australia on the 22nd July, a copy of my return ticket etc.

Went upto Customs, so so nervous "So you're here on vacation?" "Yeah" (I'd tell him more detail if he asked) "You goin' to Vegas?" "Nah, that'd be cool though! Just going upto Wisconsin" "Awesome, have a nice trip and a safe flight up there."

and that was it! He did seem to scroll through my 'file' (I don't know what he was looking at, but he was scrolling down a lot on his computer) for a while, but I wasn't asked any questions regarding what I was doing here or anything like that. If he had asked me for more information I would've told him, but hey, he didn't.

30th March 2011 - I-129F sent!

8th April 2011 - NOA1 Hardcopy recieved.

24th June 2011 - NOA2!!! [80 days]

30th June 2011 - NOA2 Hardcopy received.

27th July 2011 - Packet 3 instructions emailed to me!

27th July 2011 - Get my Police check done. 3-4 weeks? omg!

19th August 2011 - Medical!

22nd August 2011 - Medical results, passed!

29th August 2011 - i-134's arrived! Waiting on Police check. Emailed Consulate to see if they have it. :/

15th September 2011 - Finally send off packet 3! Neighbour stole first police check, form in i-134 was wrong and had to be resent, but it's all FINALLY on its way to Sydney! :)

22nd September 2011 - Packet 4 Received!

25th October 2011 - INTERVIEW! Eek!

25th October 2011 - Approved! :) Just need to mail my LONG birth certificate out so they can verify it and send the visa. Lol.

26th October 2011 - Birth certificate arrived in Sydney. Now to wait for my visa!!! :)

1st November 2011 - Visa Recieved!! :)

30th November 2011 - POE

19th January 2012 - Wedding

3rd February 2012 - Applied for SSN in maiden name

10th February 2012 - SSN arrived in mail

14th September 2012: Finally have the money saved up for AOS after a tough year. Going to start paperwork soon.

Thanks everyone! I feel much better after reading these responses, I was worried there would be a slight chance he would get turned around after arriving here!! And 3 weeks is not long enough as it is.. I cannot wait until this Ozzie is here permanantly! I will definitely be sending him off with some photocopies and letters, but unfortunately he wont be able to get a note from his boss.. he's afraid his boss might fire him if he finds out he's planning on leaving within a few months or so anyway.. and we certainly can't afford to let that happen!
