RC while living in Canada?

Hello, I came to the US on a K-1 visa in July of 2009. I currently have a conditional permanent resident card.

My husband passed away last month and I'm trying to decided where to go from here. I don't want to abandon my Permanent Residency after all the time and money I put into aquiring it but I would like to go home and spend some time with my family while I heal. Right now my intention would be to return to the USA next spring.

I'm wondering if anyone knows if its possible to remove conditions without holding a residency in the United States as I will need to apply for the removal of conditions in November, when I would most likely be in Canada.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated,

death of usc spouse is one of those reasons for immediately filing on ROC. You could file for it the day after he passed away.

My condolonsces for your loss.

I am not sure sure if you are aware of this, but you are able to file to remove conditions right now. Since you will be filing ROC with a death waiver, you do not need to wait until November. if possible, why dont you file the paperwork, complete the biometrics then go to Canada? Since the approval takes anywhere from 3+ months to a year for waiver cases.

I am pretty sure you will be ok as long as you use a US address and dont stay away for more than 6 months.
