So i was wondering, on the I-129f form, in the "state/country", "Country of Citizenship" etc boxes, what do I write? Does it matter whether I put United Kingdom, or Great Britain or not? I've been using "Great Britain", but just wanted to be sure I was putting the right one down. Thanks!

I always put "United Kingdom" on my forms.

I am not sure if it matters.

Officially your passport is from "The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland".

SO I donot think it is incorrect to write "Great Britain" if you mean England, Scotland or Wales. I decided to write United Kingdom. (I also wondered about this matter at the time.)

If there is a problem with writing Great Britain then I am sure someone can advise you on that.

Good luck!

When I did my Biometrics the only option in their Computer system was England.

I usually use UK with England as the Country of Birth.

We did United Kingdom. Everything worked out well. I think some chap who wrote GB once had some issues... I'll try to locate the post, if I can.

Just a word - don't abbreviate anything (like county or whatever... e.g don't say Herts. for Hertfordshire).

Edited to include link: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/293071-i-129f-filed-rejection-notice-given-two-weeks-later-decided-to-scrap-usa-plans-for-now-and-live-in-uk-next-few-years-instead/

That's the post I was referencing above.

Seems like so long ago now, but I went off what my Passport/Birth C. said. I also think I stuck to one thing. Either Britain or United Kingdom, don't mix the two, they may get confused. (Hell it confuses me sometimes ;).

Don't whatever you do say Ukogbani as I saw it written once... I thought it was a new country in Africa!

[united Kingdom Of Great Britain And Northern Ireland].

Thanks for the help guys, will definitely be using United Kingdom then!

About abbreviation- I'm from North Yorkshire, which won't fit it the box when I type, "N. Yorkshire" should be ok surely? I know they use those abbreviations (N. S. E. W.) in the US at least.
