I am planning the same thing my app is on 6/28 and asked the same question. All answers I got seemed to be positive and it has worked for everyone that answered as well as older posts I have looked at. So, I decided to walk-in.

Good luck!

Hope it works out for you!

It depends entirely on the office and how busy they are, so its definitely worth a try. Plus you have a good reason to do it, so just explain that to them. :) Goodluck!

My Journey:

We met through a study-abroad program in Shanghai, China in August of 2009

We got engaged March of 2010

I received my K1 VISA in 6 months (June-December 2010)

We were married 04/02/2011
I received my conditional 2-year greencard (AOS) in 2.5 months with no interview (April-June 2011)

Our son was born 02/03/2013

I received my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology 04/17/2013

I received my 10-year greencard (ROC) in 3 months with no interview (March-June 2013)

My husband returned from deployment 06/20/2013

My naturalization journey took 4 months (April-August 2014)

I became a US citizen on 08/01/2014

Received passport in 3 weeks (regular processing)

Thank you, VJ! smile.png

I hope they'll be considerate enough to accept a very reasonable situation. :(

lol ... I did mine the day after receive to notification letter (3 weeks prior appointment day) ...

They will let you stand in a "walk-in" line. I stood there 8:00AM - 12:00PM as the first person in line.

Then, I got to go back to school for my class and came back at 2:00PM while they have lunch break.

When I came back, still waiting in the line, until 4:45PM (they closes at 5:00PM), they opened the door and checked your paper.

There was only 8 people left in line, but only 5 allow to come in because the others are three-person party. Yes, those 8 people were the same people that stood in line with my in the morning.

By the way, it's ATLANTA, where I took my biometrics.

It's also dependent on the manager on that day, I heard some are very "indescribable".

My recommendation is go browsing on one-two days and get in "walk-in" line within 2hours before closing ;)

Gosh ... I gonna have to get there again for my Remove of Conditions T______T
