the word revoke is not the best word to use in this specific situation... a petition can only be 'revoked' by USCIS... A visa is either issued/approved or denied by the consulate... there is that week + of time lag between approval and issuance when the CO can change direction and not issue the visa... This is why so many have said dont make plans until the visa is in the passport and is in hand...

I actually read of a case in another country where the beneficiary was contacted after the picked up the visa and was told the visa has been cancelled in the system and entry would be denied... in that case something big came up late in the game...

Can't they still revoke the visa, even after it's been handed to you if they find additional information that justifies revoking it?

Yes, they can cancel the visa anytime before it's used. I wasn't suggesting they couldn't. What I'm saying is that asking questions before you get the visa may come across as you shaking their tree because they're giving you a hard time over the affidavit of support. This may seem to them like a good reason to put your case in AP while they investigate why you're so bothered about the affidavit of support.

On the other hand, if you ask after the visa has been issued then they're less likely to assume you're worried about the affidavit because you've already been approved. Questions sound a lot more innocent when you seem to have nothing to gain or lose by asking them.

Anyways, my original question was should we submit the I-864A on appointment day or before? Our appointment date to resubmit is 07/06/2011.

That's only three weeks away.

ScottThuy thinks that if we submit before appointment date, pink will be issue earlier. But how will we know when they will review the document and when a decision is made? It could be well pass the three weeks.

I'm thinking if we submit on appointment day, the c/o will review and issue pink that day.

god such a long thread for a simple blue slip...you have alot of free time OP or very da`i do`ng.

like scott suggested in another thread, make a copy of the blue slip. bring the copy along with required docs early to the embassy. if they accept that day and issue PINK that's great. if not bring the original blue on the appointed date along with the required docs.

I just want to have as much informations as possible before making a decision. And yes, I have a lot of free time. I don't remember a thread where he suggested this. We only have one signed I-864A from my dad. I can't submit both times. Or are you saying, bring early with copy of blue slip and if they don't accept and issue pink, take it back and go on appointment day?

if you go early they will either say here is the pink or come back we are too busy.. odds are here is your pink

Even if the c/o is not there?

What about the part in 221(g) where it says "Resubmission at any other time may be mail or drop off at window B. Resubmission will be review later."

that means if we are too busy you need to come back... but by copying the blue slip you have reentry on the date of the slip...

So we don't have to hand over the I-864A if we go early? Because we only have one.

I suggest if you go early or go on the date make sure to have all information with you. This includes the blue slip, information requested on the blue slip, and passport. Reason is my wife went 1 week before submission date and had everything for them. 15 mins and pink was issued. The thing was she came by the window and asked if she can turned it in early and they said 'YES'. She came there around 1:30PM. It also happened to be on Valentine's Day.

OK, this is the answer I was looking for. Thanks.
