I am at the NVC Stage waiting for documents to be send to my Wife.

I am working on a timeline and I have one question to ask.

Will it be a red flag if I mention that I know her cousin from the state and that is how we met online?

Her cousin and I live on a different state. but on my first visit her cousin and her husband which is my best friend went with me to visit them.

For my marriage certificate in VN I mention that I know they cousin and that is how we got introduce.

So what should I put in timeline that won't give red flag.

Opinions is greatly appreciated.

Since you already disclosed that you knew your wife's cousin already at the marriage certificate in VN, it's best to include that in the timeline as it will not contradict the truth. I am not sure how you can classify it as red flag. If you did not know your wife's cousin, how would have you known your wife? For our case, I was introduce by my aunt which was brought up in the interview. I included a paragraph in timeline of how we were introduce and the remaining 3 pages how our relationship timeline evolved. I also had my aunt sign an affidavit of our relationship and introduction. They never took that document when presented.

My 2 cents (2 questions is more like it)

- Isn't there a possible lifettime ban on the beneficiary if they try to hide that fact by lying and they get caught?

- Couldn't the petitioner be charged with visa fraud if he knowingly lies to conceal that fact?

Beneficiary---- Individuals who violate U.S. law by attempting entry with fraudulent documents are subject to prosecution and/or may be found permamently ineligible for any type of visa.

Petitioner ---PENALTIES: You may by law be imprisoned for not more than five years, or fined $250,000, or both, for entering into a marriage contract for the purpose of evading any provision of the immigration laws, and you may be fined up to $10,000 or imprisoned up to five years, or both, for knowingly and willfully falsifying or concealing a material fact or using any false document in submitting this petition.
