Thanks guys! Im excited to start working! I have been researching online about how long it takes to get your SSN after applying for it? I am anxious because I went for an interview and got the job but can't actually start until I get my SSN. I got approval for EAD and think my card should be in the mail on Monday. I seen online they say it can take up to 30 days to receive the card :S? Does this also mean it takes that long to get the number? I seen somewhere that 48 hours after applying for a SSN you can obtain the number just not the physical card....does anyone have any experience with how long to takes to get your SSN after applying and how long to get the actual card? I don't see much on people's timelines about when they got their SSN..Thanks

When I applied for mine, they said it might take a month, but I received the card in the mail within 2 weeks. Not sure how quickly you can get your number though. All the best!!

Hi everyone ....

I need help. I just got a RFE for my I485, they ask me to send them a complete Federal Income Tax Return for 2010 on I864 form.

I already submitted that in our paperwork , don't know why are they asking for it again.

I called USCIS , talked to a guy for like cca 15 minutes, he read me the whole notice that i already got , really helpful , not... headbonk.gif

My husband is in SUT - he's coming back in a week, I ordered from IRS website a new tax return transcript and I'm gonna fill out a new I864 form.

Is that all i have to do ?or do they need something else ? I know i sound like an idiot , just don't want to send it in and then get denied cause i screwed up something.girlwerewolf2xn.gif

we submitted our AOS - NOA1 date is June 7,2011 , got my bio app done on July 27 and then got a RFE(date July 30) in mail few days later.

Does anyone know how long does it take them to get back on your case after you submit RFE ?

Hi everyone ....

They are asking for a complete Federal Income Tax Return. Tax transcript is only a shorter version of it. You already submitted a tax transcript and submitting another one won't solve the RFE. Get a complete tax return.

They are asking for a complete Federal Income Tax Return. Tax transcript is only a shorter version of it. You already submitted a tax transcript and submitting another one won't solve the RFE. Get a complete tax return.

Congrats! We just received our AOS interview notice and it's scheduled for Sept 12 also! I'm not 100% sure what to take to the interview either b/c I have been reading different things. Some people are saying to take everything but the kitchen sink and some are saying they didn't have to show any documents, other than their passport. I guess, like everything else on here, it depends on the individual case and the immigration officer. I am thinking it would be better be over-prepared, so I am basically taking our expanding file folder that has all of our papers in it - from immigration documents to tax returns, bills, bank statements, lease, husband's pay stubs,etc. Also, I am going to take some photos & of course my passport and marriage certificate. Other than that, I don't really know...hopefully someone who knows more or has already been through it will help out here...

Received e-mails saying my wife and daughters interviews are scheduled for September 12th. I'm very surprised, it was only 3 months and 2 days.....much faster than I anticipated.

Patience is required for this process.
