You will need your case number, petitioner and beneficiary name and date of birth. Petitioner should call, and yes, I have dealt with them many times. But, they may or may not be able to answer how long AP will last, because it sounds like you are in AP, administrative processing. Best of luck to you

for the AP I read on DOS website that can take whole 2months as limits which is over now,but u know a case that was Approved in Consulate and be refused later from DOS ? for which reason or actually they are going just to check deeply about me and my fiance before to issue the Visa ?

It could be any number of things they are checking for. AP has no time frame. I have seen people in AP for almost a year. Some just a few weeks. There really doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. Also, your petition has neither been denied or approved, so it can go either way. Maybe you should look up other people who went through AP in Morocco, and send them a personal message. Most people are willing to help!

I may have a similar problem, but not on the same time frame. Rather than starting a new thread, I thought I'd post it here.

I had my K1 interview on tuesday in Vancouver, BC, Canada, and was approved according to the officer who handled the case with me. He said wait about 3 business days to pick up my passport and envelope from the DHL office I selected, about a half hour outside Vancouver, BC, where I live. Can it really take up to a month before my package is ready to be picked up before crossing into the United States? And would I call the DOS to find out if my Visa has been printed?

Hey DS1419,

I have no idea about how things are going in Vancouver,Canada.but from my waiting experience from here and dealing with consulate here I can assure u that the whole process for u will not be as long as mine for 2months until now even less than a month,I can advice u to call the DOS if u wanna get directly to the information bcs they are able to check for ur case deeply and tell u where ur visa is stick.my Fiance when she called the DOS the agent told her that lately they have been receiving calls about delay for Visa to be printed from different consulate Casablanca is one of them but for Vancouver I have no idea,u should wait until next week and try to contact first the Consulate if they gave u no logical reason for the waiting or an exactly date for u to get that Visa then u can goo ahead and call DOS to make sure whats going on before to start waiting for nothing clear enough for u.good Luck

Karim.

Hey thanks Karim,

I just spoke with the consulate, not yet with the DOS, and was just given the answer that I need to continue waiting the 4-5 business days before calling again, as they can't provide any info without the waybill number. I'll try again in a few days. I get so paranoid that something will go wrong! And with the wedding 3 weeks away, there's no room for error! Thanks also to Darnell for your help.

So I just spoke with the DOS, and they said my case was still under administrative review and that they have no further information on it, other than the visa is yet to be approved or denied, which contradicts what I was told at the interview (where the interviewer said, "approved"). Does anyone know how I can find out from the Vancouver consulate where it is in its review process and how long it might take under admin review? Our wedding is planned for 3 weeks from now. Thanks.

Alright u know in this stage all they can tell u is to wait then they will not care about ur coming wedding but u can use that as a reason to rush them in case they will give it importance if u have any proof about the real date of ur wedding and reservation? u just had ur Interview so ppl in other consulates waited for more than double time u did Im the example, its good to keep contacting them every week but none can tell u how long this AP or AR can take;u should wait and be patient.

No, it's not typical.... if you are from certain high risk countries (which Canada is NOT), have a certain name, or have a certain degree, there is a great likelihood that you will be placed in AP. But in short - no - it's not typical.

So is it typical to be under admin review/processing after the Visa interview? I find it so strange for this to happen, especially when I was told to expect the visa within a week. Has anyone else gone through admin review at the Vancouver consulate in Canada?
