I AM NOT THAT GUY

Does this mean America is going to pay even more people not to work?

My buddy purchased a handgun at a gun show back in PA and they did a back ground check before he could pick it up. Not sure if that's the registered thing or not...

Here we usually buy guns from anyone that's broke and needs quick cash. I got the wife a S & W 22lr auto for $40 at the bar last year. No paperwork, no nothing. It's the norm here.

In california, the background check is part of the DROS process. Like slim said, it's not exactly a registration, just a flimsy screening process.

Regarding quick sales for guns, thats getting harder and harder to do. My father and uncle are collectors, mostly WWI and WWII stuff. Unfortunately, when my father got stopped by a cop while transporting a bunch of guns, he got hassled. The process to get them back took months, and he still grumbles that they scuffed up an expensive luger.

Here if you have any decent gun and the cops get a hold of it for any reason, even if it's a bs one...they keep it for themselves. My brother had his gun stolen and the cops recovered it and weren't about to cough it up for the fact it's a collectors item. If it wasn't for the fact I was doing the maintenance for the city here and the cops depended on me for heat (boiler maintenance), plumbing, etc.. he would have lost it for good. He still owes me for that one.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

That sounds like some small town Deliverance kind of stuff. Haven't seen that sort of conduct from law enforcement since I lived in S. Carolina.

I know of three cops here that have gotten busted from taking BJ's from gals for letting them off, to taking a cut from dice and poker games to keep their mouths shut. Nothing ever happens to those guys. Even the chief of police here has given up on trying to keep them in line. He's retiring here next month and he could give two sh*ts less anymore. If it wasn't for the state troopers here there would be no law. They are a bit cut above the local police.

Running booze to dry villages, poaching walrus for tusk, selling bear parts to the Chinese, etc... is the main crime here.

I can get $150 for one fifth of cheap vodka in a dry village...that's during summer months. In winter months the price goes up to $250 a fifth. Big money in bootlegging but if they catch you, then you lose everything. Boats, planes, house, truck...everything.
