I got my K3 on July 10 and haven't got around to sending in AOS stuff yet. but I was just reading a bunch of posts here and it seems like some people are getting their cards in 3 months as opposed to the year I thought.

Is this for people who have been married less than a year as they only get a conditional card?

Is it shorter or longer for K3 vs K1?

Or am I just having flashbacks from that weekend in Bangkok?

It all depends on where you live. Some places are processing a lot faster than others, but generaly speaking the USCIS has been rather speedy lately. And also processing time is independent of marriage length.

The interview is irrelevant to when you might get the card.

See the namecheck thread in this same forum for further information.

Is this for people who have been married less than a year as they only get a conditional card?

Well, I've been married for over 2 years so will be getting a 10 year green card, and got my interview 3 1/2 months after filing. Of course that doesn't mean I will get the card then, but assuming I've passed FBI checks and they like me, its quite realistic that I could have my Green Card before 4 months.

I think the only possible correlation between the speed of people getting a conditional green card as opposed to a ten year is that some people getting conditional green cards are getting them without interview, which can be quicker.

Yes this i seemed to notice which is shy i thought the conditional was quicker. I guess it just puts off two years the interview.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by the above, but avoiding or delaying because of the interview is short sighted. Until you are a Permanent Resident, you're spinning your wheels. You will find it hard to be a 'regular joe' until you get your PR completed. If you're not going to do that with an Immigrant Visa (CR-1), then you should apply for your AOS ASAP :)

Plus you get all the cool coupons and stuff after you're a PR.

ROFLMAO :lol::lol:

Dam it. Now I'm REALLY pissed that we don't have that greencard yet....... :lol:

The speed with which one gets an interview is based purely upon the schedule at your interviewing office. If they aren't a 'high traffic' area you'll get an interview sooner. A mindless computer does the scheduling - all it sees are available dates. It doesn't care if you filed last week or last decade.
