Dear all.

I'll be in Ho Chi Minh City to submit the timeline and 10 yrs residency with my wife in the next couple wêeks.

I just finished a 10 pages timeline for our relationship since October 2007 to present.

I was thinking of inserting pictures into the word documents timeline and get notarized. The pictures are part of the timeline not ađđitional attachments. I will have a total of 22 pages with pictures. Is this a gơod idea? Any suggestion from your experience would be appreciated.

I think including pictures on the timeline is actually a pretty good idea. It helps the CO to visualize the events you're describing.

I also think it's a good idea to turn off VietKeys when you're posting on an English language forum.

12/15/2009 - K1 Visa Interview - APPROVED!

12/29/2009 - Married in Oakland, CA!

08/18/2010 - AOS Interview - APPROVED!

05/01/2013 - Removal of Conditions - APPROVED!

We have all heard "a picture says a thousand words"... a photo could replace a great deal of detail in a long timeline.. keep in mind the large number of cases the CO will go through in the single day and the slim likelyhood that they will even thumb past page two... we want to have a great timeline but it is theorized by many that the decision is already made abd the documents are just a formality...

I wonder what the CO would think about a pop-up book style timeline..

Thank you everyoe! I felt that this is the only chance to the CO attention. They didn't even look at our wedding picture...pray for us!

picture? singular meaning only 1?

Sorry! It should have been plurals...PICTURES. We had 5 different photographers for our wedding and 2 wedding albums one in Dalat and one in Saigon.

It wouldn't be the first time someone only had a single photo... scared me there for a bit...

I think inserting pictures into timeline is a good idea. I didn't try it (never thought of this way). One thing I can speak from my experience is that there's no such thing as a long timeline. If you have to explain something, do it as meticulously as you can. In our specific case, we were about to be denied only until the detailed timeline was submitted. I explained in so much details regarding our red flags such as my recent divorce, my ex was also from Vietnam, my proposal after only 6 months of knowing each other, and it worked for me. Like some people have once said, try to think they way the CO would think, that is, your relationship is real. Good luck.

Mar 2009: Met online

May 2009: First trip to VN to see her

Aug 2009: Proposed

Sep 2009: Proposal accepted

Oct 2009: Affidavit of Single obtained

Dec 2009: Second trip to VN for marriage

Jan 2010: Married

Feb 2010: Filed CR1

Mar 2010: Third trip to VN

Apr 2010: Approval notice from USCIS

Jul 2010: IV & AOS fees paid

Feb 2011: Fourth trip to VN... our first anniversary

Apr 2011: Interview... asking for timeline, 10 year residency, ex's address, etc.

May 2011: Submission of requested documents. Pink!

Jun 2011: Fifth trip to VN to travel with her to the States.

Maybe the decision to approve are made before the actual interview, but not the decision to deny.

Consular officers cannot deny an application that has already been approved by USCIS.

They can only recommend it be deny by USCIS if they find evidence of fraud not considered by USCIS at the time they approve the application.

This can only happen after the interview.
