Because a police caution a few years ago, my boyfriend is ineligible for the VWP. His interview for his B-2 visa is in a few weeks, and he is nervous about what info he needs to provide to make sure it's granted. He has a daughter and a good job in the UK, but he rents a room from his friend without a formal lease, so he really doesn't have great proof of residence other than his mate providing a letter of some sort. What other info should we provide to show that he plans on returning and can support his stay here? He's only coming for 10 days in August, and I am not legally divorced yet, so we couldn't get married if we wanted to. And he would like to come back for another week the end of December...is that too soon to reapply for a B-2 (assuming this one gets granted?) Thanks in advance for your help! :-)

As long as his B-2 is not a Single Entry (had one like that - immediately after 9/11), there is no reapplying - he will just fly back with it in the passport. In the past I was often returning to US after 2-3 weeks stays in my home country and was fine (traveled for business though).
