Hi,

I received a lot help from this forum and they were very useful. I'm going back to Vietnam very soon. I plan on going into the Consulate with my fiancee to submit the requested documents (timeline, list of relatives, list of residents..) on the scheduled date written in the Blue paper.

I think we have a high chance of getting pink even if i'm not going to be there. The reason I'm go back there is for a peace of mind and try to help as much as I can.

I believe I should go to the window with my fiancee when they called her name. I don't have a problem if the CO asking me interview questions. Any suggestion or idea on what I should do or say if she gets White after submitting my documents and my fiancee's document? Or getting another Blue?

Thanks

You going to the window will be at the CO's discretion... if she gets a white or a blue, there isnt much that you can do unless the CO agrees to talk to you... dont let it get to you if they dont want to talk to you... between the heat, dehydration and the stress of them giving us a blue putting us in AP I collapsed there at the window... not something one would want since they didnt care enough to do a damn thing to help... another VJ member was there to offer me a hand when I was down though.. go figure...

the odds of denial with you being there are low... try to be as polite and calm as possible in any event and just remember that this is a bureaucratic agency you are dealing with... you are just another case number starting with HCM to them... make sure she can still answer any and every question about you and the same holds true for you as well since you will be there...

Beside indicate that I'm there on the timeline, is there any other way to make sure the CO know that I'm present with my wife?

Thanks Scott for the advice.

I'm only going to be in Vietnam for 1 week. I can't stay any longer b/c I do not have any vacation left. Believe it or not, this is my 5th trip within 2 1/2 years since I knew my fiancee. I will leave the US this Saturday. I will be in HCMC for my fiancee appointment from 12 noon of June 13 to late evening of June 15. We can meet if you like any time within those dates.

I suggest writing a cover letter and place it on top of the documents to be submitted. You will then give the letter and the documents to a person in Window specified in the Blue paper (window B??). The cover letter should explain the content and a sentence stating that you will be at the consulate with your wife to turn in these documents. When you turn it in window B, I think your documents will be pass to your CO. The CO will probably going to look through your documents and call your wife.

the day my wife received her pink she said there was this female who cried after being denied. she cried and cried and keep asking why would you deny the visa in front of everyone. even i feel bad for this person because for someone to be crying after hearing such bad news is just not right. i know for a fact my wife will cry if she was denied. she cried when she got the blue/white sheet haha!! just all is good im leaving in june...june 20th to be the exact. best of luck to you my friend.

maybe if there are less frauds they'll loosen the rein a bit, but viets will be viets (meaning being shady and try to scam/con you at every turn).

IMHO, don't be afraid to explain/answer in details the questions regarding your relationship asked in your blue sheet. I did it in my timeline with 6 and a half pages and only trimmed it down to 6 after Lien complained that it was too long :D Of course, don't be too much but don't just write a couple of paragraphs. That's my experience and it worked for me.

I also think that you probably don't have to talk to the CO because once you submit the requested documents, they'll ask you to wait and you'll know before you leave if you'll get pink or not. The waiting time may be shot or may be excruciatingly long.
