When should I get nervous?

On May 10, 2011, we placed your application in the oath scheduling que. We will send a notice when the ceremony is scheduled. If you move prior to the scheduled ceremony, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

This is the notice sitting in my case status panel online and this is the last I have heard from USCIS. When should I start getting nervous? Shouldn't the letter have been sent out virtually immediately after that notice was generated online? That is how it has always worked so I am wondering why I haven't received my notice yet. How long does it usually take? I had my interview February 28th.

When your case is placed in queue for oath, it would be the responsibility of the local office to schedule you for the ceremony. The time would depend on how many people are waiting for ceremony. If you were queued for oath on May 10 and May 10 is past your 5th/3rd anniversary and did not get any correspondence from them, I would suggest that you call them. It is not normal for scheduling process to take more than two weeks. Usually, the queuing and actual scheduling and back-to-back (within a day or two) but it can take up to a week or maximum of two weeks. Call USCIS to be on the safe side.

Give them a call and find out whether there were any delays, flags, notifications in the system or something you can't see on your end. For the price of a quick ring, you'll be able to find out more information than you would normally on your own.

26 January 2005 - Entered US as visitor from Canada.

11 July 2005 - RFE: cheques inappropriately placed.
18 July 2005 - NOA 1: I-485, I-131, I-765 received!
19 July 2005 - NOA 1: I-130 received!
24 August 2005 - Biometrics appointment (Naperville, IL).
25 August 2005 - AOS touched.
29 August 2005 - AP, EAD, I-485 touched.
15 September 2005 - AP and EAD approved!
03 February 2006 - SSN arrives (150 days later)
27 February 2006 - NOA 2: Interview for 27 April!!
27 April 2006 - AOS Interview, approved after 10 minutes!
19 May 2006 - 2 year conditional green card.
01 May 2008 - 10 year green card arrives.
09 December 2012 - Assembled N-400 package.
15 January 2013 - Sent package off to Phoenix.
28 January 2013 - RFE: signature missing.
06 February 2013 - NOA 1: N-400 received!
27 February 2013 - Biometrics appointment (Detroit, MI).
01 April 2013 - NOA 2: Interview assigned.

15 May 2013 - Naturalization Interview, approved after 15 minutes.

10 June 2013 - Naturalized.

I feel your pain Bradcanuck. I have been in line for interview scheduling since May 9 and I have heard nothing. I did call on Friday (June 3) and of course got the standard once it is scheduled I would recieve a letter. Chin up and I am rooting for you to get your letter soon.

K-1 journey, AOS/EAD and ROC in my timeline

2011 March 31 - Sent off Naturalization pkg overnight to Texas

2011 April 1 - Arrived in Texas at 10:21 am

2011 April 1 - NOA (rec'd via snail mail April 8)

2011 April 7 - Cheque cashed

2011 May 5 - Biometrics (letter rec'd via snail mail April 15)

2011 May 9 - Placed in line for interview scheduling

2011 June 13 - Rec'd yellow letter (no change in status online)

2011 June 23 - Rec'd text that my case has been scheduled for interview

2011 August 1 - Interview (rec'd via snail mail June 27) PASSED

2011 August 3 - Rec'd email that my case has been scheduled for Oath

2011 September 1 - Oath ceremony (rec'd snail mail Aug 5)

2011 September 1 - All done, yeah.
