So in real terms then, the term "conversation on race" means virtually nothing.

If you think black youth crime goes unreported and unremarked in the media or in politics, you don't know your own country at all well because it isn't the case.

if you ever lived in Europe for a year or more, you'd witness first hand that there is no correlation between race and violence. However, you do have a point. You will not like this point though.

Children raised by aggressive parents are much likelier to grow up aggressive. Aggressive people are likelier to not do well in civilized life and end up in a poor neighborhood, and the ones that grow up in a poor neighborhood are likelier to be aggressive. Level of education (correlated with poverty and quality of schools in particular district) also has an effect on aggressive behaviors (less education = more aggressive).

SO, if you see a correlation between race and violence in the US, you have to ask yourself what caused this correlation which normally does not exist.

I would point out my larger points are

- There seems to be a fear of reporting or even talking about this issue of crime and public incidents which comes largely from the Black youth culture.

Again I attribute it more to a culture than race because.... there have been blacks in this country a long time and we have no prior history of this evolving problem.

I speculate it has a lot to do with A. the destruction of the two parent family in the black community and B. Black pop culture calibrates aggression, dominance, violence and the unrestrained attitude.

The Black population as a whole is only like 13-15% and the problem segment is a fraction within that group... so we are talking about a pretty small percentage of the population yet almost daily you can see water parks closed, flash mobs descending on businesses, Malls run out of business, festivals or "urban" gatherings turning into out of control melees.

I'm not a Nascar fan but I know a lot of drinking and "redneckery" is associated with the sport.... yet where are the gang brawls there? How often do you see Asian festivals, or Indian gatherings turning into predictable chaos?

The last time I went to Great Adventure Amusement park during a visit to NJ, I witnessed several fights, food being stollen from venders, Groups of Blacks cutting their way to the front of lines. Vulgar shouting.

The timidity of people is what is feeding into this mentality.

I was raised to treat people equally and to me that includes holding people to the same standards.

We don't do that and thats why I raise these issues.

The term "conversation on race" has been a term used to describe an ongoing dialog on how different people approach the topic.

and here of course is Eric "my people" Holder's" mentioning of a needed dialog on race.

My posting of this topic is because I believe there has been for too long an unwillingness an unwillingness to talk about or cover in news a growing trend of public outrageousness of "some" mostly black youth.

SOme of it is of a racial nature but many times its not.

While it's true you can on occasion find a white mob of anarchist destroying property at some G-summit

or rowdty college students doing extensive crime, it's rare.

IN my city alone last holiday weekend we had 70 Black youth locked up after two people where shot/ one killed following a huge incident at a Nascar event (of all things).

Similar events took place around the country, some numbering in the thousands of participants.

It's my opinion that whites and Black generally view this trend in different ways.

-Blacks are alarmed as they too fear this growing presence of a growing thug culture.

- Whites don't want to talk about it in real terms because they fear about all else being accused of noticing race.

Thousands of participants? Holy Cow! There must have been a liberal media conspiracy to cover that up!

So you think this recent string of predominantly black teens doing terrible acts of violence and vandalism is part of the 'converstaion' you highlight in these videos?

If you're not paying attention to white college students going buck-wild then getting away with it for many reasons- then perhaps its a problem you need to work into your own conversation.

Think about that closure and the amount of people there. Wasn't it North Avenue?

The Trib must have skipped the whole thing about it being Danno's thousands of black kids from Inglewood giving law enforcement a hard time, although I am sure some of the riff raff must have made its way there, bothering the nice orderly kids from Lincoln Park and Lakeview.

I grew up in several areas- including the nice Western burbs (Naperville, Glen Ellyn) as well as Humboldt Park, Wicker Park before the gentrification of the 90s, and have spent considerable time in Woodlawn and South Shore. Just like black kids have issues when fighting like we saw with that poor kid on the South Side that got killed by a 2 x 4, white kids will misbehave at the same age groups in school and at the keggers we all remember from college and those high school days.
