Airticket to VN

Hi,

Im going to VN in Jan for Tet. Should I go ahead and book my ticket now or just wait for a few more months? Im just afraid its too soon now to book it. And the price now is a very decent price for Tet season. Any suggestions? Thanks alot

its a gamble.. prices could drop if oil prices drop... or they could continue up faster than they have been... check prices on Mondays and Tuesday as they are the cheapest days of the week to buy flights... its a gamble buying flights early...

Afraid of what? not able to pay your credit card bill when it's due a month later or what else? When you book an airline ticket many months in advance, you'll be rewarded with steep discount since the airline knows there's one less seat to worry about. Tet is a hot travel period in VN. If you wait near the travel date, not only the price will go up, you might also risk the chance not able to secure a seat as well.

The ticket was $1219 and It was 26 hours from the States to SGN. My layovers in Seoul wasnt too bad It was only 2 and half hours. Been searching for the ticket and the price is very good now actually. I am only worried If I wait too long too book the ticket then I wont be able to get a good deal.

Thats about what I saw back then too... What do they look like for tet next year?

Tet next year will be around Jan 23rd as far as I found out. The cheapest one I found so far for Jan 10th is $1194. Good deal for Tet season isnt it? . Contacted a travel agent and they said to wait for another 2 months or so and the price probadly will go down a little bit but for myself I think $1194 is a pretty good deal already but I am going to wait for a little while longer before go ahead and book my ticket.

I would wait some and watch the prices of the same flights over time on Mondays and Tuesdays.. thats a decent price given the price I just paid..

it depends on everything so it's like rolling a dice really. if you live in the east coast it will be cheap if you buy during the winter time because it's cold and possibly snowing. prices will be cheap because no one will fly after the big holidays...thanksgiving...xmas and new year. buy it after new year...errr unless something crazy like japan got blown up by china then you're screwed. if you're in the west coast buy it way the hell before tet. the sooner the better. there are a lot of cheap #### old school vietnam people who will buy a year in advance. my crazy uncle would come to vietnam for tet, then come home and book himself another flight for next tet.

it honestly depends on what is going on in the world. war, food prices etc. the only good advice is to buy it late at night and fly on a wed.

She just went for the summer a couple of weeks ago and I need to wait for the end of the school term to go in two weeks... will be there a month or so...

Did you mean buying the ticket? I think booking can only hold it for 3 days. Anyway, I would purchase the airfare now. If the oil prices drop, there won't be much. One obvious drawback of purchasing early ticket is the change of plan later. This sucks.

Last time I booked my ticket like 3-4 months advange and there wasnt any change on my flights. I am just keep an eye right now and probadly will book it in a couple months . Hopefully I can get a good deal by then.
