Recieved NOA2 last May 6 but application still not with NVC or Manila Embassy

Good day everyone, hope all is well with you.

I have a concern and would just like to share it with you. I just want to know if anyone out there is experiencing or have experienced the same thing and can provide helpful information. :)

My Fiance received NOA2 last May 6 stating that our application for the petition for K1 visa was approved and forwarded to the Manila Consulate.

We called NVC several times and the Manila Consulate just last week and both offices don't have a record of our application yet. It's been almost a month now since we received the NOA2, is this normal?

My fiance called USCIS last Friday, but the lady who answered just directed him to the website state.gov and informed him that USCIS just approve applications which basically means she doesn't know where our application is!

I sent out an email inquiry yesterday to both USCIS and the Manila Consulate inquiring about our application, I'm really hoping to get a response from them soon.

Is there a step that me and my fiance are missing to get that MNL case number?:(

:help: I hope I am just over worrying...

Thank you in advance for any helpful information that you can share. :D

Best regards,

Theresa and John

I was able to get my MNL number by emailing the NVC. NVCInquiry@state.gov

You'll need to tell them your USCIS receipt number, the petitioner's name and date of birth, the beneficiary's name and date of birth. They should be able to tell you the MNL number after that.

Good luck.

You could try this way as well and all you need is your NOA 1 recipte number call NVC 001-603-334-0700 and follow the messege prompts, this will lead you to you MNL number

Try this number as it is the Visa Specialist (Department of State) in Washington D.C. Call 202 663 1225. Press Option 1 then Option 0 to speak to a visa specialist.

This is the number that was recommended to us and they were quite helpful when we were looking for our new case # after NOA2.

I am assuming that you have the hardcopy of NOA2? That would be a big help.

Unfortunately, I have heard of something like this. You should stay on top of this. Also, if you do not get any answers, get your congressman/senator involved.

Once USCIS completes their part, they put a barcode on the case and send it out. They do not keep a copy of the case. The case I heard about was that their case got sent to an off site storage.

Also, the petitioner can make an infopass with local office and take NOA2 hardcopy and ask face to face where your case is.

I hope you get it real soon.

Good Luck

P.S. Your case definitely goes to NVC prior to being sent to consulate. I know it says it on the hardcopy that it was forwarded to consulate, but it makes a stop at NVC where it gets a new case # (MNL2011######) then off to consulate.

If you don't get any response from any of them, ask your fiance to contact his congressman, in his district. It seems to be happening more and more that USCIS sends the package to a storage facility instead of NVC. They never own up to the fact that they could have made a mistake until a congressman or senator asks them about it.

NOA1 - 12/21/15

NOA2 - 04/18/16

NVC Receive - 04/29/16

NVC Welcome - 05/13/16

DS-261 - 05/14/16

AOS, IV PAID - 05/27/16

DS260 done - 06/10/16

Case Transferred to US Embassy in Riga Latvia at the end of October.

If you really want it, you'll find a way!

I hope this isn't the case with our application. But I will definitely ask my fiance to follow your advice the soonest possible.

This is getting me worried. :( It's a really good thing there's visajourney and helpful people like you.

Thank you so much! :)

Ifyour NOA2 Approval Notice states that "your petition had been forwarded to Manila Consulate" then that means, it didn't passed through the NVC and that means you can get your MNL Case # at the US Embassy Manila NOT in the NVC (some petitions will be sent DIRECTLY to US embassy where the beneficiary will be interviewed for her/his visa). If US em Manila did not have a case # to give you yet, that means you need to wait for awhile and contact them again to ask for your case number.

Finally we received a reply to the emails we sent. NVC informed us that our application is on its way to US Embassy Manila. While the Embassy gave us our MNL Case #.

Right now, we are still deciding on when to schedule the interview. :D

Thanks to all who assisted us on this concern. Have a wonderful day!
