Actually, it was a great place, from the perspective of a grade schooler. With only three channels on the TV in snowy black and white, and only board games with missing pieces, we spent most of the daylight hours outside entertaining ourselves, with sports activities, and causing general mayhem to the neighborhood.

Tree houses, John Wayne movies, playing foot ball and baseball in the pasture with the rest of the kids, playing army in the woods, F-Troop, Gunsmoke, mom's actually cooked dinners back then, riding the in the back of our pops pick up, no bs helmets for bike riding, riding dirt bikes, coca cola in a bottle, real hamburgers, jiffy pop pop corn in the tin foil thingy that fit on the stove burner, Wonder bread, ...great time to be alive imo.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Obama only said America is better now because he's a part of it. Prior to 1965, Obama was still in Kenya.
