Received Notice of Approval

We received notice that my wifes petition was approved. My lawyer now says to gather documents, complete forms, etc. He says now that we wait on my wifes information to be sent from embassy, etc. Does anyone know how long is typical for the wait until interview? I would greatly appreciate your response. We are very excited that we are now this far along! Thanks!

A friend of mine from my job also has a fiancée from the Philippines. they were approved may 2nd and there interview date is September 24th. This is just to give you a ideal, I hope this helps.

Hi.

Your petition is now going to be sent to the National Visa Center and will probably spend about 2-4 weeks there. It is then forwarded to the consulate, then the consulate will send a packet of information to your SO that she will have to send back and then wait for an interview date.

Also correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure beneficiaries in the Phillipines have to attend a (CFO?) Seminar?

Your timeline also shows that you have filed a K-1 visa and you are referring to your SO as your wife. If you got married and filed a K-1 visa well you will have problems at the consulate. If you filed a K-1 and are referring to your fiance as your wife, don't do that because at the interview the consulate may deny your petition if you use the word "husband" or "wife". Use the word future husband or future wife or just avoid it all together by saying fiance.

Some folks who have filed through the Phillipines would be able to fill you in on roughly about how long it takes to get an interview date.

Congrats on your approval! If you compare the timelines of others that have filed from the same country as your beneficiary then it will give you an estimate of how long until the interview etc.

Good luck with the rest of your process and don't forget to fill in your own timeline to help others.

Congratz!!! The VJ timelines suggest that the current wait for an interview is about 4 months from the time Manila gets it. Add to it 2-4 weeks for it to get through the NVC. Luz and I got our NOA2 a few days ago and I am hoping for a Jan interview date.
