I just found out from a Friend that she got blue slipped because her 2009 was low but get this her 2010 and recent tax return 2011 was more than enuff to support her and the child she filed for

Now I thought they only care about your recent tax return and not the last 2????

Why the heck do they wait all the way to you get to the interview to tell you do not make enough to sponser the person you filing for?? getting ppl hopes up for nothing??

But wait a main I thought they only care about the last recent tax return???????????

Depends on the consular....That's why for the 864's and 134 the information given to questions should be consular related, rather than general text book responses. PP can quote text book responses, but the OP should be looking for consular related responses.

Just my 2cents.

Consular specific refers to how your embassy handles the information received on a 864 or 134 financial form.

Text book responses is what NVC has documented in regard to what information is acceptable at a minimum from the 864's or 134.

You probably needs to do a little more reading on the 864 finance poverty level exceptions.

***** Moving from CR-1 to Bringing Family Members... forum as OP is talking about a friend bringing her son *****

Which consulate did she file at?

How much did she make in 2009 and 2010?

How much is she making now and did she have sufficient proof of that?

Is it just her and her son, or are there other dependants (husband etc)?

Every embassy is different--I STRONGLY recommend that you talk to your embassy well in advance of the interview--some will tell you nothing, but others will tell you everything.

Your emabassy will tell you exactly what they want if you just ask.
