So you agree the GOP has gone off the cliff?

i'll agree both parties have gone off the cliff - as has the economy.

Well, I don't see the Democrats having changed much at all. See, Slick Willy could still run as a viable candidate for the Dems. Reagan would not have a chance in hell attracting much of a GOP primary vote, however. As for the economy, it could have gone off a cliff but didn't. The GOP is working hard, of course, to give it that push over the edge that Obama denied it two years ago.

Obama the Socialist is the one reason that the economy is as screwed up as it is now. We could have been recovering way before now if he wasn't so incompetent and probably the biggest moron ever elected as President.

Wonder what his solution is now that unemployment is headed upward. I am guessing he is thinking another Trillion or two or even more will fix things. No one has ever spent themselves out of a economic collapse. Probably the rationale is that the rich has all the money so lets take it and spend. More than likely he and his team are thinking new regulations are due on businesses. Let see what regulations and laws? Hey how about forcing them to only allow employees work 4 days a week at 32 hours but pay them for 40. That way they will have to hire more. Oh wait France did that and unemployment went higher. Hmmm, so lets see the moron do something that hasn't been done before and FAILED like Roosevelt tried to do during the depression.

Of course we have the sheep in the other party bleeting for Palin or Romney or even the Donald. So expect for whoever wins in either party that we will be in for more of the same.

It does seem that American politics (and economics) constantly redefine where the bottom lies.

Yeah, Obama the Socialist. Nice, Lucky.

This was America in the Dirty Thirties. And the New Deal programs such as the WPA, TVA, and Social Security were the ONLY things keeping bread-line walkers like these from -- quite literally -- starving to death in the USA.

 you have a democrat president extending tax cuts, staying in 2 countries instead of withdrawing like he campaigned, getting involved in a 3rd country, spending money like a drunk sailor, rubber stamping the patriot act.....and you don't see a democrat change?

Wilson (D) took us to war in WWI

FDR (D) took us to war in WWII

Kennedy (D) and Johnson (D) took us to war in Vietnam

The history of war-making in this republic has (D) stamped on it every bit as much as (R ) [Reagan- Grenada  ]

Spending money like a drunk sailor? I don't quite buy the premise, but that's precisely what Democrats are ALWAYS accused of doing.

The Patriot Act -- you may recall that this was initially a bipartisan proposal immediately after 9/11. Republican Senators Orrin Hatch (R-UT) and Jon Kyl (R-AZ) with Democratic Senators Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and Chuck Schumer (D-NY) introduced legislation on September 13, and the final bill had widespread bipartisan support. This has never been an (R ) or a (D) thing, it's always been an American national security thing.

Frankly Charles, you're off base here. Obama is acting in keeping with the general parameters of Democratic party policy throughout modern history. You may or may not like Democratic policy, but he's no outlier to it.

Nothing. Nothing was the answer. Much like that scab on your arm. If you leave it alone, it will heal all by itself.

Okay, so we can finally toss the theory that tax cuts stimulate the economy and employment to the garbage bin? Good. Let's not pretend anymore that this theory has any validity.
