The poster never said it was denied by USCIS but denied at the interview stage.

This is where it gets confusing when other links and cases are introduced. The OP has not been denied nor approved. Still waiting. Another person posted that had "heard about a case being denied at the interview stage" and posted a link. Then comments were made about that which was unrelated to OP's original post.

OP, have you received a "RFE"? Have you called to find out any information about your application?

Just because you haven't heard anything doesn't imply denial. Several other applications (for whatever reasons) have yet to be approved.

If you have not called, maybe start calling until you get an answer as you are considered outside of normal processing times. (ONPT)

You may be eligible for an expedite if you do not have a RFE.

Just wondering if anyone knows of an instance where an I-129F fiance visa petition has been denied by USCIS?

We're one of the unlucky ones waiting since December for an answer to our petition. Would be nice to hear something...

Our petition was denied, we were sent a letter and given a chance to appeal, which we did, it was approved and now we're married. Denials aren't the end, we're proof of that.

I was just looking at your timeline. Your appeal only took like 11 days. I thought when someone said appeal that it took several months. If you do not mind me asking what did they deny you for and how did you appeal?

Yes, this seems like one of those instances where people mix up the I-129F petition and the visa application at a consulate. Two separate things, but seems a lot of times people talk about them as if they are one and the same. The OP asked about petitions being denied, and someone answered, yes, at the visa interview. Obviously that is not USCIS or the petition being denied. It just adds confusion all around, same as people talking as if the OP was actually denied, when they never stated such.

It could be denied by USCIS basiclly for two reasons. First if you don't include a proof showing that you met your fiancee in less than two years from the date of the filing of the petition or if the petitioner has a serious criminal background. Otherwise for some missing documents, you will get the REF and depending on your replay to the REF, you could be denied the petition too. However you still have a chance to file another petition correcting the previous problem with another fee.

Thanks for all the replies. Just to be clear, we did no receive any indication that we were denied. We were just curious if anyone has heard of the I-129F being denied, and for what reasons. I guess we're just stuck waiting....

It seems you are a little more than the timeline of USCIS processing time. I think it won't hurt you if you call USCIS or set up an appointment at your local office and check the status of your application.

When we got the denial J called both his senator's and congressman's office and right away the congressman's office got involved and looked into why it was denied, I think that's what moved it along quickly. The letter we received said that the pictures we sent of us together was of an unknown persons, we had received an RFE before asking for more pictures. The denial letter had instructions on what to do, it gave a place to write what we needed to and we also added extra stuff like notarized letters from people who had spent time with us, more pictures, copies of receipts from when we were together (we had always driven so had no boarding passes, etc.), a copy of my passport picture showing that it was me, 2 more intent to marry letters. We sent in as much as we could get together in the time we had plus had the congressman's assistant helping us out. She was amazing and even after we were approved and it was sent to Canada she said if we needed help with anything to call, I was very impressed!
