I spoke to the NVC again today... there is no sign of the petition. I was told that once 90 days from the date on the NOA2 have passed, to phone the NVC and they will tell us what to do. That date will be the 22nd March 2006. I just do not know what to make of any of this... I really feel low in spirit thanks to this.

Paul and I met on the Bazaar on the 14th January (he joined my progressive rock forum that day)

July 3rd he flew to England to meet me

We fell in love while he drove all over the place coz I cannot read maps (we were supposed to go to Ingleton - but touched Darlington 4 times, Pierce Bridge 6 times, Scotch Corner twice and Bernard Castle twice and we never did make it to Ingleton)

It has been so long and so much has happened in between...

Arrived in Houston on October 29th 2006

Married 17th November 2006

Lost my father 8th January 2007 (all dates are a blur after this)

Conditional Green Card dated 24th October 2007

So it seems that your petition has disappeared between the service center and the NVC? I have seen similar posts and several got their elected representative involved and all of a sudden the petition re-appeared. Good luck

Paul was supposed to contact his congresswoman's office today - I hope he has done that - I do not know how much more of this torment I can take without breaking.

Why when something is wrong or missing do they have to make you wait so long before they do something? Is it really that hard? I was suprised if they NVC loses something in the mail to you they even make you wait a month before they will remail it. Seems like alot of this waiting is not necessary Melo try not to worry about your petition things will work out. Maybe if your calling the NVC and speaking to an operator is the problem ask to speak to a supervisor. When I call the NVC I get alot of the same operators who just seem like they are reading a line on a screen and dont know what they are talking about. Hope they find your petition soon!

Aww Melo so sorry to hear that your paperwork is missing. I know how you feel being in limbo. But I would just make a plan for March now. I would make photocopies of everything you submitted and NOAs in another packet that you can readily have in hand if they want you to resubmit. That way you will have it ready and only need it if they cannot find the original documents. Maybe once you show it they will get you back on track and expediate your interview so you and Paul an be reunited soon.

Hugs,

Mary

Wanted to add that maybe they will not start the process over if you have all evidence and can the send the packet to NVC attn: Mrs. Smith, etc. since none of this is your fault. And once back at NVC they can verify it in system and schedule your interview. Good luck.

Everything I respond to is from personal knowledge, research or experience and I am in no means a lawyer or do I claim to be one. Everyone should read, research and be responsible for your own journey.

We got our NOA2 on the same day so I would imagine that our petitions would have been sent out in the same batch to NVC...so it's weird that yours didn't make it! Mine got there on the 17th of Jan and left the same day. Should it for some reason made it to London already you would have gotten Packet 3 back probably.....this is a weird situation! I would definitely go with the Congressman route, they can penetrate the system a lot better than we can!

Just spoke to Officer Victor at the California USCIS... he says that the petition was approved and sent to the NVC on the 28th December 2005. He said that I should keep calling the NVC to get the matter dealt with :help:
