Kingston Interview, How Long Until VISA In Hand?

I looked on the site for the answer to my question and can't find it! Anyone who's been there already or anyone who knows, I'm trying to figure out if I fly down for fiance's interview in Kingston, which is the plan, will it be realistic to think we can fly back here for his entry into the U.S. together? How long does it take after the interview has been passed to receive the K-1 Visa in hand?

:clock::clock::clock:

This information is posted on the yardie thread, but I will re-state it. The embassy generally gives the Beneficary a window of 4 days or more. The minuim would be 4. DONOT BOOK A PLANE TICKET UNTIL VISA IS IN HAND.

Normally about 7 days but if the interview was passed anything can put it on hold where it could run for a easy 2 or 3 weeks. He would be fine travelling solo and u picking him put at the airport. You are in Minnesota so feel free to fly to the port of entry and fly the connecting flight with him.

Alright, good to know. Does it just depend on the mail service then? Or is there timing like what time of year or how many applicants, etc?

It can take 4 days - it can take 2-3 months - there is no rhyme or reason as to why, and as Life's Journey said, don't make travel plans until the visa is in hand, not just approved -

You aren't allowed to attend the interview anyway (most recent news), unless the embassy requests your presence - in which case you will get a blue slip and have to schedule another interview. So why not wait to see what happens at the first interview, and then fly down once he has the visa in hand if you want to fly with him?

I wanted to do the same as well. But I've been on here long enough to know that it varies GREATLY! I've seen people get the visa back as soon as a few days, some people have had trouble with DHL processing, and some have been told to go back and pick it up because it can't be delivered to them. So, there really is no way to determine how long it will take.

Good luck.
