I am well known for my love of Bailey's on here. ;) If a post mentions Bailey's I'm usually involved somehow.

one of my fave camping or winter time drinks is Bailey's hot chocolate

and I keep meaning to try making some Bailey's milk shakes, but never get around to it. We don't drink much. We bought 2 bottles of Scotch when we were in Scotland in May, haven't even cracked 'em yet.

We actually don't drink all that often either, I just talk a mean game. The Bailey's milkshakes are nice, and I love Bailey's in my hot chocolate. My sister's MIL puts it in her pancake batter on special occasions too.

Last night we did have a drink...we have today off from work. I had a Bailey's and hubby had Glenfiddich. And he won a free hip flask valued at ₤30! :)

As for infusing my own, no, I'm not a huge schnapps fan. I have, however, made my own Bailey's and Kahlua before.

I gave a friend of mine a recipe for homemade kahlua over the phone once.........I guess I kinda skipped the part where you're supposed to cook it............so she made it ......bottled it ......let it set..............gave it to friends. I dont know how many people she gave food poisoning to  DOH!!!

Oy, that's not good. :( I only made Kahlua once and drank it myself, so no messing up others.

Actually it was funny because making that and the Bailey's the recipe was from the US where it called for a 'fifth' of alcohol. I didn't know how much that was (I've since learned that it's what we call a 'mickey' in Canada...or 375 mL). So I had used what I thought would be good; 750 mL.

Nice and strong. ;)

mmmm, Baileys.... hubster brought back a bottle of the new mint chocolate Baileys from the duty-free shop.... HE RAWKS!! It's REALLY good!!! If you can find it, give it a try. I hear it's a limited thang, so get it while you can. They also make a new caramel one, but that might be too sweet.....

Hey Kat!!

Its about $6 for a huge bottle at Big Daddys on Eastchase Parkway in Fort Worth, which is just off I30. I know because I bought some at new years to make bellinis (peach schnapps, and champagne - yummy!!), so you'll be grateful you didn't get it at Gatwick afterall! :D

We live in a dry county with the exception of ONE town: Alpine Helen. It's the only place in White County where one can buy alcohol. I am assuming it's because this is a tourist town and alcohol is part of the attraction of this German/Bavarian style town. At any rate, the voters in this quaint little county have managed to keep the rest of the county dry.

Doesn't make much sense...if anyone wants to buy it, all they have to do is go about 9 miles down the road from the county seat. Ah well, that's part of living in the Bible Belt I guess.

LOL - I was at Big Daddy's two weeks ago, obviously 9 months pregnant buying two minature bottles (you know, the one shot size) of Jack Daniels to make the glaze for some TGI Fridays Seseme Chicken.

Even the tramp outside gave me a filthy look! :D

Not as bad as what I saw the other weekend we hopped over the Utah-Nevada border to the casino town there, and wandering around inside with some other people was a heavily pregnant woman (They allow smoking in the casinos there). No way I would go somewhere I knew there would be smoking if I were pregnant.

I'm glad we don't live in a dry county/state. Although, we can't buy spirits or anything stronger than 3.2% in the grocery stores here. Fortunately we have a liquor store nearby.
