Hello everyone,

My fiance in the U.S. filed I-129 petition on February 22, 2011. He received NOA1 letter on March 5. The service center is Vermont. After that on May 5 he received a letter, issued on April 29, to let him know that NVC has received an approved I-129 petition and it will be forwarded to the U.S. Embassy in London. Is this the one called "NVC Letter"? Now I have received a letter from the US Embassy in London and started filling out forms for K-1 visa to apply. My question is this: Where is our "NOA2"? Missing? But the thing is though "My case status" on USCIS website is still "Initial Review." Should we call Vermont SC to enquire about it? Will I need our NOA2 letter later on?

Thank you for your help in advance.

Yes you should call USCIS that you didn't get your hard copy of your NOA2. I hear you will need that for Adjustment Of Status in the US. Your case status on their web site doesn't matter, that system doesn't work well at all, and for all we know you may be in Initial Review with both of you in the US 50 years from now!

NOA1 - 12/21/15

NOA2 - 04/18/16

NVC Receive - 04/29/16

NVC Welcome - 05/13/16

DS-261 - 05/14/16

AOS, IV PAID - 05/27/16

DS260 done - 06/10/16

Case Transferred to US Embassy in Riga Latvia at the end of October.

If you really want it, you'll find a way!

Thank you very much for your advice. I'll ask my fiance to call USCIS.

Yes, definitely get a copy of the NOA2 (it takes a while to get one, but if you call USCIS they'll at least send you an email showing that you requested it) and if they ask you for it at the interview, let them know that you never received the hard copy.

Thank you very much for your advice. I've got my NOA2 hard copy now.
