Can I begin the process now???

I pretty much have everything ready to go at this point for the petition, but I forgot to have my fiance send a signed letter of intent to marry within 90 days and a SIGNED attachment to her G-325A.

Can I send the packet now just to get the ball rolling, knowing I'll probably get RFEs? Or, do RFEs slow the process considerably?

Maybe I'm just being impatient or perhaps just trying to avoid the wrath of an angry Brazilian women...

Thanks,

Matt

Matt, have her fedex the signed letter of intent and the signed attachment to her G-325A - make sure every single page is signed. That will avoid the delay for an RFE - they DO slow the process considerably.

I wouldn't. If you know you're missing something then get it. Just send her the $$$$ to have it overnighted to you. Maybe that will take away some of her anger. I too, have felt the wrath of a Brazilian woman, when I told her that her passport pic was too large. :)

I second that. If you fail to send them the signed letter of intent, it's very very lilkely you'll get an RFE (even if you get lucky and don't get one for the lack of signature on the attachment).

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

She'll be angrier if you send an incomplete packet and cause a delay which could have been avoided....

Jen

8-30-05 Met David at a restaurant in Germany

3-28-06 David 'officially' proposed

4-26-06 I-129F mailed

9-25-06 Interview: APPROVED!

10-16-06 Flt to US, POE Detroit

11-5-06 Married

7-2-07 Green card received

9-12-08 Filed for divorce

12-5-08 Court hearing - divorce final

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.

About the signed letter of intent, we too forgot to do them, so when I got home and was in the process of doing the I-129F, I made up one for me and one for my fiance, and attached it to an email to her, She signed and dated it and took a good photo of it and emailed me the photo of her signed and dated letter of intent. I then printed it and attached it to her G-325A, and sent it to Vermont.

I got no RFE and they had no problem with the photo copy.

And if they do request to look at it then can see it at the Visa interview.

YouAndDan, you got lucky. The instructions ask for an original signed letter:

Provide original statements from you and your fiancé(e) whom you plan to marry within 90 days of his

or her admission, and copies of any evidence you wish to submit to establish your mutual intent.

Always best to have everything right on the first shot. Mistakes can be made, and the RFE god's are fickle, so best not to tempt the fates...

Good luck on your journey and perhaps have her do a rush mailing of the missing items. Otherwise, with your gaps you are virtually guaranteed an RFE.
